"As I get a chance to present a very eclectic selection of music within my 'Open Library' shows on Worldwide FM, I decided to take a more club focused direction for this Mixmag In Session podcast. I tried to present the variety of music that I like to play out in parties, clubs or festivals, from the classic and deep sounds of Nelson Paradise Roman’s 'I Love’ to St Germain’s remix of 'Fadjamou'. As for Cliff St Cyr’s Deep Voyage - it’s an all time favourite House track of St Germain and myself, complimented by Sacha Dive’s latest release on Bass Culture. 

"I also tried to present a more hypnotic aspect of music with E GZR’s dope Moritz’esque vibe or Dubspeeka’s release on Odd Even, before moving into James Ruskin’s uncompromising remix of Aiken 'Dominance' and our forthcoming remix of Scan 7 on Elypsia Records before finishing the set with two techno classics and leaving you with Underground Resistance’s 'Final Frontier'. @Anethamusic is a trained Architect based in Paris, now fully dedicated to music and focused on developing her career as a DJ, producer, and Label Manager.
As a leading figure of the new generation of French DJs inspired by EBM, trance, electro and old school 90’s techno tracks, Anetha knows how to make people dance. She always tries to offer an intense, energetic and unpredictable journey to her public, with a strong and fresh tracks’ selection.

Production-wise, Anetha has released her first EP on Work Them Records in 2015 and tracks on different labels since then, including a successful one called Acid Train on the great Anagram imprint in 2017. In 2018, she released two acid ravy tracks alongside the talented Hector Oaks on a split EP and another EP called Bionic Romance on Blocaus Series, the first imprint she had co-founded with her collective since 2016 to develop the French local scene.
And now, she’s managing her brand-new solo project called Mama told ya – a label focused on sharing and experimentations which promotes alternative talents and different forms of art while seeking to push boundaries through the release of some unprecedented collaborative tracks.
The first release of Mama told ya set to release later this month is a split EP containing tracks from Fast Forwards own Sugar.
Anetha is also to perform at the upcoming 4 Years of Fast Forward the 2nd of November in Copenhagen.

Fondateur avec AWB et PVNV du label Taapion basé à Paris, Shlømo est un des plus dévoués représentant des franges deep techno françaises. Auteur d'un paquet d'EP depuis 2013 sur des labels aussi divers que Delsin, Arts ou Singular Records, il signe en 2018 sur son propre label "Mercurial Skin", un premier album d'une grande variété. La techno se trouve breakée, encore plus ambiante qu'à l'accoutumée et agrémentée de pérégrinations leftfield et abstraites du meilleur effet. Toujours en mouvement, ses lives suivent l'évolution de ses sorties et il y a fort à parier que ce qu'il nous réserve cette année vaille le détour.

Shlømo live at Positive Education Festival 2019

Techno don Reinier Zonneveld looks set for a massive hit with his latest track, which reworks the stunning melody made famous by PPK’s 1998 smash ‘Resurrection’. 

Zonneveld made his remix of the trance classic to play in his live sets, and it proved to be so popular that he felt it simply had to be released. He and his team set about trying to find the rightsholder of the original melody so that they could license it. 

This journey led them not to PPK, but to the original composer: the now 82 year old Russian electronic music pioneer, Edward Artemiev. He wrote the melody for the soundtrack of a 1979 movie called ‘Siberiade’. Zonneveld wrote him a letter asking if he could grant him permission to release his take on the melody. Listening to Reinier’s new interpretation of ‘Resurrection’, Artemiev was immediately sold and approved it to release. 

One of the earliest composers to adopt the synthesiser, Artemiev has a pioneering legacy that lives on through this new version that has been so skilfully crafted by Zonneveld. 

Moving on to the track itself. Pummeling old skool hardcore techno kicks thump under filtered layers of bubbling synths as an ominous tone is set early on. The melodic elements tease in tense fashion as layers of hissing percussion build on top. Flashes of the distinctive riff are sparingly deployed. Then suddenly the swell comes, rising pads and dramatic synth riffs fuelling the fire as cymbal rides urge us forward. Snare rolls and acidic textures build the tension further before the rug is pulled from under us and we’re thrust into the dream-like sounds of that famous riff. 

Sounding as enchanting and otherworldly as ever, these cute interweaving melodic lines soon transport you to another dimension. Filtered kick drums and heavily reverbed pad sounds interplay with percussive builds and rising acid tones, suggesting an explosive drop. Instead, the minimal approach is chosen, stripping the track down to its bare melodic basics and letting the famous hook shine. Further glorious melodic subtleties lift the track again and snare rolls push higher, but the track never reaches for excess and continues to tease throughout.
