Soulfooled, lovingly curated since its inception in 2010 by German producer Alex Niggemann, has established itself as a crucial platform for fresh talent, focused on sonic innovation that is unfailingly fresh and original, with its own distinctive brand of music. Daso Franke was born in Poona (India) and at the
age of five was using the dance floor of his father’s disco as a playground, growing up with the music of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and radio pop. Now, living in Berlin, this multi-talented music producer, live act and party machine, is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in recent times into the global arena of the electronic music circus. Pawas Gupta’s music and creative drive resonates with his journey from his early days as a DJ in India to becoming an independent producer based in Cologne. From his classical roots in tabla and percussion, to his deep, Detroit-influenced sounds, Pawas has carved his own distinctive niche - a space where melodies, musicianship and atmospheric sounds fuse perfectly.

Prosper Rek was born in London, raised in Amsterdam and spent all his vacations on Ibiza since he was ten. Over the years he has sculpted his very own flavor of house music that just won’t take no for an answer. Prosper has been a resident DJ at the legendary Blue Marlin Ibiza for six years and the Dutch people might know him best as one of the residents of the infamous Pleinvrees parties.

'Ripple' marks his Manual Music debut after recent releases on the Armada Deep label, and includes two warm and melodic dance floor pleasers.

Dinky has come forward with “Casa”, the first single from her forthcoming album due out this autumn on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels label. The tracks were recorded whilst she was resting at home, pregnant with her second son. Due to a medical risk, Dinky was forced to stay in bed and decided to keep herself busy by writing music.

Whilst the original features summery, almost blissful vocal hooks interspersed with acid bass gurgles, Satori’s remix takes thing down an altogether more turbulent route. Initially ambient and spaced out, it then morphs into a driving techno track, combined with reverberating pads and choral wails.

Premiering on DHA is Human Machine, a musical project composed of four Sicilian DJs and friends: Musumeci, Sisio, Simeone and Pavi.

Mixing their 4 different musical roots and skills into one new identity, the Sicilian combo have a simple rule: make danceable music. After their debut 12" 'Black Mechanism' on Engrave Ltd put them on the map, Human Machine made an appearance on Connaisseur Recordings with the strong 146 EP still hot in Ibiza and in the most influential DJs' sets. This time around Human Machine's latest EP will be released by the Berlin-based label Exit Strategy, already receiving full support by Ame, Dixon, Solomun and Adriatique.

Dreamy aesthetics intertwine with dancefloor athletics in Several Definitions’ You Are Not Alone EP. The title track emerges via a slow paced wandering bassline, making for a gradually immersive intro. Padded with ethereal synths and aerial whizzes, Alone’s dreaminess increases tenfold showcasing the artist’s crafty melodic side. Hatzler jumps in on the remix, kicking off with a bumping bassline from the get-go. Injecting bass and grit is one of his known production traits, and he manages to give Alone a straightforward, still dreamy yet solid groove appeal. Antala sets off with thumping bass drums, laying the foundation for an ascending synth array. Melancholy is key, as grave synth loops layer onto dramatic strings, creating a tightly wound arrangement. Bjoern Stoerig’s rework comes with added drum loops and high pitched synths, as he aptly shifts the track’s dramatic high points, reconstructing the overall resonance. Despite its jovial name, Esmeralda comes in the form of a dark and murky melody, accented with sharp busts and winding synth bits. Esmeralda’s mood upholds the collective gloominess of the entire lot and offers up an intricate incursion into deep tech realm.

Reinier Zonneveld – Plastic People [Snippet]

Rounding off Save Us #16 we have ‘Orbit’, which is incidentally the first song Jonas produced with the Munich based duo Hacker & Miethig in his Berlin studio. Varying drum patterns, combined with constantly modulated trancy synths and heavy basslines add to the energy and velocity of the track. But enough words, just close your eyes and sleepwalk through the night!
