LA-based DJ and producer Lauren Lane presents her latest EP ‘Edge Of Sideways’ released later this month via 20/20 Editions. 

‘Edge of Sideways’ consists of 4 tracks, opening with title track and todays Debut Transmission 'Edge of Sideways', a collaboration with Down2 featuring soft, soulful vocals from dOP’s revered vocalist JAW in Lauren’s signature looping, echoing style. Up next is Forget To Remember, a deep, moody number with a rippling bassline layered with elongated synths and snappy percussive beats. 

Then we have Necessary Evil follows with its haunting, echoing vocals from Cary repeating the title over a dark 4/4 beat. Last up is a remix of Edge of Sideways from Israeli DJ and producer Chaim who brings a percussive, exotic element to the track.

Berlin based producer Robosonic combines with Dutch producer Ferreck Dawn to release on Kittball Records this October, with two originals and remixes from Guz and Deepshakerz.

With an extensive back catalogue including releases on Get Physical, Defected and Simma Black, Cord Labuhn aka Robosonic has garnered a reputation for producing high quality house influenced by the sounds of US Hip Hop and soul, whilst Amsterdam raised Ferreck Dawns lengthy career has seen a plethora of releases on the likes of Relief and Toolroom. 

This collaborative release fully encompasses the fresh and deep sound of Kittball Records.The duos Nine to Phife offers delectable piano riffs on top of layered of vocal samples, metallic percussion and spaced out pads, before Were There demonstrates hypnotic melodies and ethereal atmospheres that create space for the vocal to be warped, whilst skilfully crafted drum loops underpin the composition.

Next up, Amsterdam based Guz contributes his take on Nine to Phife as airy utterances of the tracks title float above an elastic bass hook and powerful rhythms, before Italian duo Deepshakerz close the release in style with their remix of Were There, utilising an infectious melody that smoothly interacts with modulated vocal licks.

As the weather heats up, so does the Moon Harbour release schedule, this time with two terrific new tracks from label debutant Dario D'Attis.

At this point, Swiss artist Dario D’Attis is a real veteran with a long and deep appreciation for house music. From running his own parties to hosting a radio show, headlining round the world and producing on labels like Defected, Clarisse Records and Purple Music, he has done it all. Recognised for his fresh take on the genre and always killer drum programming, he is a standout talent and comes up with the goods once more here. 

The charming ‘Tribe Chant’ is just the sort of summery track that gets outdoor crowds going. The rubbery, loopy drums swing low, the vocals up top bring the vibes and little guitar riffs add funk and colour. It’s a track that builds in tension but never boils over, instead staying cool with muted chords and rolling pads that are always on the move. 

Second offering ‘Ceremony’ is seven alluring minutes of restrained, atmospheric and organic deep house. It keeps on pulling you in with flowing pads and tinkling percussion, while more vocal chants subtly increase the pressure. It’s a real set builder that has a warm heart and genuine sense of suspense. 

Both tracks here are classy house efforts designed to get the attention of the floor in smart new ways.
