"Wissenwertes" zum Wort &gt;BLACK&lt;?!

Black (Schwarz) ist die Bezeichnung für eine Farb- und Helligkeitsempfindung, die beim Fehlen eines visuellen Reizes entsteht, also wenn die Netzhaut keine Lichtwellen oder nur Lichtwellen geringer Intensität im sichtbaren Spektrum rezipiert. Das zugehörige Substantiv ist Schwärze. Schwarz gehört, wie Weiß und Grau, zu den unbunten Farben. Als Körperfarbe ist Schwarz physikalisch die (fast) komplette Absorption aller Frequenzen des Lichts, als Lichtfarbe ist es das Nicht-Aussenden jeglicher Lichtfrequenz.
Für die Abwesenheit von Licht gibt es mehrere unterschiedliche Wurzeln im indoeuropäischen Sprachstamm, etwa black im Englischen. Im Lateinischen existieren sogar zwei synonyme Vokabeln für schwarz: ater und niger. Letztere setzte sich durch und kommt heute in romanischen Sprachen vor, etwa noir im Französischen.

Durch die mehrdeutige Nutzung des Begriffs Farbe entsteht die Unklarheit, ob Schwarz eine Farbe ist. Alltagssprachlich werden meist sowohl Schwarz als auch Weiß als Farben angesehen.[1] In der Fachterminologie wird zwischen Farbmittel und Farbreiz unterschieden, dadurch erklärt sich die Bezeichnung von Schwarz als unbunte Farbe, da ihm die Farbigkeit, die Buntheit fehlt.
