Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant. 

‘The Orange Collection’ is the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care. An effortless journey encompassing a range of sounds through indie dance, nu disco and electronica, it’s reassuring to find that Eskimo still stands for timeless quality and originality.

SLAVES OF FEAR

In the heart of a vibrant city, there lived a young musician named Paparder. From a young age, Paparder was enchanted by the melody of life that surrounded him. His fingers danced effortlessly across the strings of his guitar, creating harmonies that seemed to resonate with the very heartbeat of the city.

Paparder's love for music was nurtured by his grandfather, a wise old man who had spent his life playing tunes on a weathered piano. Under his guidance, Paparder learned not just the technicalities of music, but also the power it had to connect people, to heal hearts, and to tell stories without words.

As Paparder grew older, he found himself drawn to the bustling street corners, where he would set up his small amplifier and play for anyone who cared to listen.
