🇬🇧 DrymbaDaDzyga Band was created in 2006 in Kyiv on the initiative of the bass player, Aleksander Novichenko. Musicians from different projects joined in with the common idea of creating an ethno-rock band with a new and powerful sound.

In the years of its existence DDD has participated in many Ukrainian and European festivals, such as Krayina Mriy, Slawske Rock, Pidkamiń, Trypilske Kolo, Przystaneck Woodstock, Piknik Reggae, Ukraine-Georgia: Two Hearts, One Soul! and many others, where they introduced the audience to the new, modern version of Ukrainian folklore.

In 2008 the Band released their first album — Slavske Rock 2007 Live, recorded right at the festival, thus preserving the unique energy of the live performance.

2010 was very productive for DDD, as the countless hours of hard work and creative sessions have finally paid of, and the the first studio album OGOooo!!! was released, getting many warm reviews from professional musicians and critics.

Throughout its existence DDD had several band members change. Sergiy Hitsun, Sergiy Soloviy and Inna Prokopchuk of the initial line-up helped set the direction for the Band and its future. 

The Band was then joined by amazing new members — Anastasia Tkachenko, Artem Leisman and Oleksii Klonkin — giving the Band both a fresh sound and look.

DDD is a great example of modern Ukrainian music that combines ethnic roots with new rock sound, whose continuous work attracts more and more supporter to Ukrainian culture each day.

🇬🇧 YELKA [єлька] — such a pseudonym was adopted by ethno-singer Svitlana Bulanova from Kropíwnítskyj in honor of her grandmother: Olena Rybalkina, who was called «Yelka» in the village.

She knew hundreds of folk songs, and also treated people with herbs, raised ten children, experienced the Holodomor… Nevertheless, she started each day with a song and accompanied the sunset with a song.

Each of us has his own «Baba Yelka» — a granny who could not be imagined without a song. They worked with a song, grew with a song, got married and went to the better worlds with a song....

THE BABA YELKA PROJECT
The Baba Yelka project is dedicated to Ukrainian folk songs, their search, preservation, and promotion. Founded in honour of grandmothers who are living bearers of the Ukrainian tradition.

Modestly living in the most forgotten Ukrainian villages, they have a great wealth - knowledge of lyrics and melodies of folk songs, which are passed from mouth to mouth from generation to generation.

The participants of the Baba Yelka project focus on finding and popularizing authentic songs collected in their native land — that is, in the Kropíwnítskyj region (ex-soviet Kirovograd district) in central Ukraine.

The project is implemented with the media support of the regional publication «Nova Gazeta».

🇺🇦 YELKA [єлька] — таке творче псевдо взяла собі етно-співачка Світлана Буланова з Кропивницького на честь своєї бабусі — Олени Рибалкіної, яку в селі називали «Єлкою».

Вона знала сотні народних пісень, а також лікувала людей травами, виховала десятьох дітей, пережила Голодомор... Попри це, вона кожен свій день починала з пісні, і піснею проводжала захід сонця!

У кожного з нас своя «Баба Єлка» — бабуся, яку не можна уявити без пісні. Вони працювали з піснею, зростали з піснею, одружувались й пішли з піснею в Кращі Світи....

ПРОЄКТ BABA YELKA
Проєкт «Баба Єлка» присвячений українським народним пісням, їх пошуку, збереженню та популяризації. Заснований на честь бабусь, які є живими носіями української співаною традиції.

Скромно живучи в найзабутіших українських селах, вони мають величезне багатство — знання текстів та мелодій народних пісень, які передаються з уст в уста з покоління в покоління.

Учасники проекту «Баба Єлка» зосереджуються на пошуку та популяризації автентичних пісень, зібраних в їх ріднім краї — тобто в Кропивницькій області (яка досі ще називається на совйетский лад як Кіровоградська) в серединній Україні.

Задум належить етно-виконавиці Світлані Булановій; новинарці та редактору «Нової Газети» Інні Тільновій та PR-ниці Вікторії Семененко.

Проєкт втілюється за підтримки крайового видання «Нова Газета».
