Recorded in the ayeland lab, Vault Artist Studios, in East Belfast - we came around to hang when Däïre recorded this mix and there was a serious energy.

The Star Room co-founder comes thru with a wicked exploration of the UK aesthetic - through 2-step garage, jungle riddims and slammin' electro. Large, indeed.

Unsere ARD & ARTE-Dokumentation „Magisches Island“ ist nun auch auf Blu-ray und DVD erhältlich. Da viele nach der Veröffentlichung der Filmmusik fragten, haben wir uns dazu entschlossen, sie kostenlos zum Download anzubieten! 

Dazu haben Jan, Sebastian und ich uns etwas besonderes überlegt: Die urgewaltigen Tonaufnahmen der isländischen Natur haben wir mit der Filmmusik zu einer akustischen, musikalischen Reise miteinander verwoben. Auf der Blu-ray bzw. DVD gibt es zudem eine Version mit Bild, ohne Sprecher. Ein kontemplatives Filmerlebnis, das die Essenz des Staunens über die Schönheit der Natur noch mehr zum Schwingen bringt und das über die Wegnahme des Kognitiven ein Mehr generiert. Es soll die Zuschauer emotional abholen, ohne sie mit Informationen zu überfluten. Ein innovatives dokumentarisches Format, das wir in Zukunft vertiefen und ausbauen möchten.

Magisches Island - Ambiance Mix

Cycling has been the main outlet through which I listen to music loudly these days. With the clubs closed, I've been cycling through the empty Dublin City streets and across the fields of the Phoenix Park, late into the night, and just blasting music from my bluetooth speaker tied to my handlebars. It's been genuinely emotional and cathartic. I'd been struggling to make a mix that seemed coherent, and I think it was because there was no real coherence to everyday emotional experience these days with everything delineated by the fecking pandemic. But focusing on how I feel when I'm cycling and listening to music gave me a way to put together something that seemed to make sense, so very happy to share this mix. Get a small speaker, tie it to your bike, get out there and release it x
