Ramon Tapia returns to the label with a bang and this time it’s with a 2-tracker. Both tracks are totally different from one another but compliment each other brining the same power and signature sound inherent to the label boss 

First up is 'Strident' - a raw stripped down techno track that sends us instantly back to the 90’s. Rolling snares and a minimalistic approach gives the track an instant drive and in the combination with the strong and pulsating lead this track will put you on another level 

Second on the release is 'Bounce' - a funky track that will speak equally to techno and house heads. Playfully interpreted chords, vocal snippets and pushing hi-hats are carefully placed and give the track it’s distinctive groove

Following the success of the duo’s ‘Forte’ album earlier this year, Pan-Pot’s highly esteemed Second State label is thrilled to announce the release of the 13th edition of the ‘SUM’ various artist compilation. As a celebration of Techno music, this compilation showcases the genre’s finest, promising to leave a lasting impression on enthusiasts worldwide.

The tracklist, curated with precision, features a diverse range of artists, each contributing unique sounds that encapsulate the soul of techno music. The compilation initiates with the pulsating energy of “Warehouse Impulse” by Audio State, setting a high-octane tone from the outset. Ben Champell’s “Give Me That” follows, with its raw and powerful sound captivating listeners. The hypnotic journey continues with “Basic Instinct” by Bruce Zalcer, showcasing intricate melodies and driving rhythm. Chris Hirose & RNDTXTR collaborate on “Sits,” a track that fuses deep basslines with harsh percussion and pulsating synth stabs to create a mesmerising atmosphere.

The middle of the compilation is marked by the spell-casting sounds of “Keep Dancing” by Katnada, followed by “You Will Not Colonize” by Kmyle, which exemplifies the genre’s rebellious spirit. Kristian Heikkila’s “Craft,” M.F.S Observatory’s “Interstellar,” and Procombo’s “Freaks” each add a unique flavour to the compilation, pushing the boundaries of Techno. Ramon Tapia’s “DSP Engine” and Wigbert’s “Delayed” conclude the compilation emphatically with a duo of tracks that champion the true versatility of Techno as one of the world’s most celebrated musical concepts.

Each track on ‘SUM’ Vol. 13 highlights the distinctiveness of the artist’s sound while maintaining a cohesive flow. Premiere of 'Rootstock' by ANNĒ, taken from Moon Lander EP forthcoming on Soma Records

Fast rising techno star, ANNĒ, returns to Soma with another astounding release - the Moon Lander EP. Marking her 3rd full release with the label, ANNĒ once again delves into deep, grooving techno with her now signature sound design.

Title track Moon Lander opens with a serious intent. Playful stabs glides across carefully constructed percussive elements that keep the pace fast and sharp. Fieldstone hits with a more hypnotic, space like vibe but still retains ANNĒ’s unique drive. More clinical sound design is at the forefront of St. Strings with expertly controlled drums driving the rhythm as slowly evolving atmospheres and stabs deliver the attitude. The more jacking Rootstock is up next, pushing hard on the 909 workouts against dubbed out synths and trippy, intense synths elements. *bandcamp exclusive Magnets closes out the release with a more dirty, and abrasive sound.

If you are a fan of techno and have paid attention to the most relevant producers lately, you will surely have come across the name of the maker of this EP. Roll Dann is one of the fittest creators on the Spanish scene and this is demonstrated by his work for labels such as Soma Quality Recordings or Mord among others.
 
His specialty is the most combative and direct techno, but with a solid foundation in the best tradition of this sound, the roots that come from the best British techno of the nineties, combined with a current and powerful sound design. This in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of the genre leads him to easily master everything necessary to move an intelligent dance floor and throughout the six cuts that make up this work he demonstrates it with solvency and professionalism.
 
Starting with the introduction Confused Smiles, Roll Dann prepares us for the storm that will follow, which opens fire with Ungrateful Skills, straight to the jugular, made with crunchy continuous sequences, with the appropriate dose of distortion riding on a compact and direct rhythm, all with an hypnotic and obsessive progression that makes it a dangerous tool for the most experienced DJs.
 
Interrupted slides towards more liquid terrain without abandoning the danceable impulse, but soon things get more aggressive with the emergence of successive layers and sequences.
 
The Guide descends into the depths of the underground sound, rubbery and smoky, stretching and modifying the frequencies, playing with distortion and aggressiveness in a risky but nevertheless very effective exercise in the club.
 
Excess of Power, a kind of rhythmic tunneling machine that pierces the eardrums and stirs up the sound systems,  taking us to the last cut, Creating Pleasures stops the machine and experiments with textures and industrial influences, a farewell in style for a high-voltage EP.
