As he crawled along the sandy beach an Airplane caught his eye, so far up in the sky, next a gull he saw fly by, finally a balloon so out of reach that made him sigh.

Oh how he dreamt one day he'd rise, above the earth to join their heights, and soar like them as high as kites!

They laughed at him and criticized, you foolish turtle you'll never fly! 

Yes you can swim and even dive, but no reptile such as you will ever fly!

That night he fell asleep quite teary eyed, by morning awoke so mesmerized, his shell and body transformed before his eyes, a pair of wings he'd grown a perfect size.

He walked and ran at waters edge, and flapped his wings as birds flew by, to his amazement he then rose high, so far up into the sky.

His winged shelled body joined birds and gulls of days gone by, his new found friends above the sky, and even one pilot just passing by!

Of friends and family on land below, when looking up to see him fly, they marveled, they smiled, and idolized, then all agreed their shelled prodigy indeed did fly!
