-- Prep Time is Making Season: Just like a basketball team preparing for the Olympics, we can't get distracted by what's on the outside. Preparation is about what’s coming, not what's happening now. It’s a time for God to challenge us and transform us, not to break us.

-- Don't Despise the Beginning: Small, repetitive actions and even what feel like false starts (the "starting and stopping") are training you to get out of the blocks. Just like cutting the stem out of collard greens, the small details and seemingly insignificant steps are what determine your ultimate success.

-- Don't Neglect the "Little Bit of Flesh": Moses's delay in circumcising his son almost cost him his life. This teaches us that neglecting even a small sin or disobedience can be deadly. God’s word will not return to Him void; He requires our full obedience.

-- The Team Is Everything: You can't fight the fight alone. Just as Moses needed his wife, Zipporah, and his brother, Aaron, you need a team—people with different perspectives who can step in when you can't fight for yourself. Seeking counsel isn't a sign of weakness; it's a sign of wisdom. Your "squad" is coming if you stay steadfast.

-- Do the Hard Thing: Sometimes, it gets uglier before it gets better. Like Zipporah harming her child to save her husband, you might have to give up something precious for Christ. The pain is part of the process, but it is necessary for your growth and the next step God has for you.
