Helen thought the repeating piano phrase reminded her of an old fashioned treadle weaving loom. So the track is a sort of homage to those who laboured at these devices to create fabric and clothing for the masses. The painting is "Weaver" by Vincent Van Gogh.

This isn't autobiographical in any way, it's just a story...

Get ready to experience the thrilling conclusion to my furious recording project! Throughout this journey, I've lived and breathed the captivating world of Dr Feelgood. Their music has been my inspiration, igniting my passion and fueling my creativity. I've explored their incredible discography, dissecting their songs, got under the skin of my heroes and their influencers. I've relived the events that defined them and reignited the fire in me that first sparked when I got to know their music in the early 80s. It's been wonderful! If I've achieved just a fraction of their raw energy and infectious rhythms in my recordings then I'll be a happy man. Thank you for accompanying me on this journey of love.

But now, if you read between the lines, something unexpected and exciting just happened that will be taking up my time! For the climax of this project, a spark of inspiration has lead me to create something new. In this grand finale, I proudly present to you a special tune — a re-imagined version of Dr Feelgood's cover of James Cotton's rendition of Little Walters' timeless classic: 'Everything is gonna be alright.'

Prepare yourself for a rockier twist, a wonderful tune reworked with a double-shot of power and intensity. Alongside this musical transformation, I've crafted entirely new lyrics that feel pretty relevant to me today. It's an amalgamation of homage and a little bit of me.

This, my dear friends, is the culmination of it all — the culmination of countless hours of dedication, love, and respect for Dr Feelgood's legacy. It symbolises the true essence of what this project has been about — an homage to the timeless music that inspires us, the unyielding spirit of rock and roll, and the unending pursuit of creative expression. Dr Feelgood were labelled as being leaders in what is often referred to as “Pub Rock”, a phenomenon than revolved around a tight-knit set of bands playing a regular circuit of venues in and around London in the 1970s. It’s a term that’s always felt a bit derogatory to me, but today you’ll hear it used to refer to the style of music that started to emerge from this scene. Les premières notes de cette chanson me sont arrivées en Mai 2022, juste après avoir composé "Même si tout s'arrête". Peut-être ce qui explique une certaine ressemblance dans la façon de les avoir construites, à savoir des accords de synthés vintage qui servent de support à la mélodie et une thématique parlant d'histoire d'amour. Mais la comparaison s'arrête là car les deux titres ont vraiment chacun un caractère et une identité propres qui les distinguent l'un de l'autre sans hésitation. 
Cette chanson est restée dans les cartons près de 1 an, avant que je n'écrive les paroles en Mai dernier, et que je l'enregistre. Ensuite mon ami Freddie de MTM Production a mis sa "touch" pour re-mixer et masteriser ce titre, en lui redonnant du punch et toute la dynamique nécessaire. Freddie, encore merci pour toute l'expérience et le temps que tu accordes à mes créations. C'est à mes yeux d'une valeur inestimable.
J'espère que vous prendrez plaisir à découvrir ce titre, au moins autant de plaisir que j'ai pu avoir à l'écrire et le réaliser. Comme d'habitude, n'hésitez pas à "liker" et reposter, c'est très apprécié et si important pour Freddie et moi!

The first notes of this song came to me in May 2022, just after composing “Même si tout s'arrête”. Perhaps this explains a certain resemblance in the way they were constructed, namely vintage synth chords which serve as support for the melody and a theme speaking of a love story. But the comparison stops there because the two titles really each have their own character and identity which distinguish them from each other without hesitation.
This song was in the works for almost a year, before I wrote the lyrics last May, and recorded it. Then my friend Freddie from MTM Production put his touch to re-mix and master this title, giving it some punch and all the necessary dynamics. Freddie, thank you again for all the experience and time you give to my creations. In my eyes, it is of inestimable value.
I hope you enjoy discovering this title, at least as much pleasure as I had writing and producing it. As usual, don't hesitate to "like" and repost, it's very appreciated and so important to Freddie and me!

Frosted Flow ft. Day Day

One of my fave comedy scenes in a movie is the "this poem sucks" beat poem in 'So I Married an Axe Murderer'. Written & performed by fellow Cannuck Mike Myers, the visual performance is as much of the fun as the lyrics. Here's my take (apologies for the vocal quality, which was recorded at different times & locations with just my phone mic). All instruments played by me on keyboard; I kind of like the realism of the snare drum brushes in particular. still needs practice tho.
