Adagio, Georg Muffat (1645-1704)

This is in the yellow Music for Millions book as a piano piece. This recording, done with EWHO Opus edition, is arranged for trumpet, horn, trombone, and tuba. I used the solo instrument patches.

This pretty much sums up my current view of the human condition in 32 measures. Video to follow, maybe.

Muffat Adagio

Edward MacDowell (1860-1908) was an American composer best known for his Woodland Sketches which contain the well-loved To A Wild Rose, and his Opus 55, Sea Pieces.  He had a complicated life, especially in the second half of it.

This work is from his 1889 Opus 37,  Les Orientales.  I have studied it and I  had a student studying it as well.  I got an earworm of it the other day and decided to record it.

This was recorded with an Alesis QS8.1 used as a controller, into Bandlab, and using the EastWest Bosendorfer library in  EWHO Opus Edition.  It was mixed with no other plugins, I just mixed through a Chameleon Labs 7720 compressor on an insert.

I hope this piece gives you an earworm, too.
