Sharing with you my own scoring of "Himno A Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia" of Fr. Maximo Juguera [1924].
In this arrangement I chose to replace the more familiar intro as I wanted to "paint", through my music, the scene of the approaching pagoda with all the colorful canoes, packed with strong men in colored teams, as they altogether pull the shrine barge during the fluvial procession, and how it feels to behold that scene.
The few measures of the introductory part mimic the heartbeat, excitement, awe, chaos, and prayers of the jubilant crowd - all converging into the main part where everyone begins singing.
The tempo of my arrangement is attributed to the rhythm of paddling the boats.  If you're keen enough listening you'll also hear the birds converse in their own excitement.
