I challenged myself to create completely outside of my own musical taste and comfort zone. I actually ended up rather enjoying it and learned a few tricks in the process.

Just a brief and unedited improvisation on a passing mood.

"Don't give me false hope. Don't give me fools. False hope."

I often tend to have words going round my head in various iterations. It's the same when I'm trying to write music. Seemingly infinite variations make it frustratingly difficult deciding how to bring a piece of music to a conclusion that feels right. Maybe I'll just let things just be how they be?

False hope.
Fools Hope.
Hopeful.
Hope fools.
Fools fall.
Hopefully.....

Yet another sample from my library of unfinished creations. I'm quite fond of this little piece except for it's banal and unsatisfying ending. I think the last few bars sound a little "weather forecast" jinglish haha. Maybe I’ll return to it someday.

Music has been an integral part of my being from a very early age, I joined our Church choir when I was just 5 years old. I wanted to sing! I won't now list every stage of my musical development but I'll just say that music has been a driving force my entire life from that point on. A love shared and participated in by my entire family. 

I was for a time a performer, many years ago. I took a two year gap after my A levels (2 of which were Music). Next was a place at the RNCM, BMus Hons Classical Saxophone  & Music History. After less than two years I felt it wasn't for me and left uncompleted.  Sadly then for such a long time, music had become just a hobby, everything I played or wrote was for my ears only.  Until now. Life has taken a new direction and with new confidence building and an opportunity to focus on music, I am now sharing with the world!

I hope to be able to build a career doing what I love and being nearly 40 years old, I think now is the time. No more hiding!

Over time I hope you will hear my recording quality improve. At the moment everything is recorded in one take and then a bit of sound tweaking in post. Please forgive fumbles while I get myself properly set up. You will hear lot's of original music played primarily on the piano, lots of guitar, some saxophone here and there and eventually some singing. All wrapped in my own original cover art. I may also do some covers at some point.

UPDATE 12/06/2021 (friends across the pond 06/12/2021):

I am finally getting to grips with some of this tech and my new set-up but it's a bit "more ya know, more ya know ya DON'T know..." ya know? I will start to release more frequently now, but sure as anything there will still be things to iron out. Any advice or constructive criticism welcome!
