Oldskool ! for a change, this time back to the early to mid ninties with some Club Kinetic  classics, the first rave tape I ever listened to was Stu Allan at Club Kinetic with MC Connie and to say it was life changing to a young impressionable me is an understatement, loved it from the first moment and then went on to listen to Stu Allan's radio show on key 103 every week and get into Helter Skelter, Dreamscape etc.

DJ A.K. - Bouncy Techno Classics Mix 09.07.22

There’s not many DJs who would be as amazing playing happy hardcore as they were gabber or 90s jungle, or piano house or hip hop but Stu Allan could (and did) it all. He would go from playing jungle at Quest in Wolverhampton to playing hard gabber at Doncaster Warehouse with ease and he had fans in every genre. He will be very missed.

As a bit of a genre hopper myself, the loss of this legend makes me realise there’s not many people like him left, dance music is so compartmentalised these days and you rarely find people into different styles of rave music. As a kid in the late 90s I didn’t even know he had a weekly radio show in Manchester, I’m only just listening to them now and realising how great he was on the radio too, always pushing new music whatever the style.

My Dad died a year ago this week from cancer and Stu’s passing has brought a lot of tears to my eyes the last few days, reading tributes from people like Carl Cox, Slipmatt, Grooverider, Brisk, they all loved and respected Stu so much and it brings home how much of a father figure he was in dance music, I’m not sure there’s another like him out there.

This week all I’ve listened to is Stu Allan sets, all his radio shows are on YouTube and soundcloud and I’ve been hammering them. Stu Allan you have my total respect...this mix is for you.

Future Dimensions - Classic 90's Hardcore/Trancecore - Vinyl Only Mix

Part 1 of my tribute to the one and only Vinylgroover, one of my favourite producers back in the day and his sets were always one of the highlights of any Rave and tapepack in the 90's. He was absolutely prolific in the studio and there was a big void left when he went to pastures new in the Hard Dance scene at the end of 1999. This mix captures a quite brilliant time for Happy Hardcore and there is some real smile on the face tracks. Enjoy peeps.

There is some slight distortion on the scratching due to the rookies error of not checking the latency settings after an update doh! so apologies for that.
