Joseph Willem Ricci is a contemporary folk artist from Boston.  Currently living in Copenhagen, you can hear his intricately woven guitar arrangements and solemn vocals softly above the old inner city. Classically trained, his relationship to guitar began with the music of Brouwer and Villa-Lobos.  After finishing lessons at the Eastman School, however, Ricci began to move towards the folk-blues tradition of mid-century America.  Ricci's lyrics are personal and reflective, inspired by the intertwined history of folk and beat poetry and occasionally drawing upon hip-hop roots.
