Until Tomorrow Comes Around - A song that i came up with one day in the corniest and most cliche fashion ever. From lying back on some grass with an acoustic guitar looking up at the sky and spotting a planes vapour trail in the deep blue and it made me feel a sense of melancholy somehow. This is also one of my older demos from a couple of years ago now.

I'm not giving up - Ultimately this song was heavily inspired by Sam Fender and the brilliant Seventeen Going Under album. I echoed his concept of writing about an age and a time in ones life. Starting off with '25 and only feeling half alive'.

This one is something that echoes a concept that i write about quite often which i feel is in the category of the 'Bittersweet Love Song' but with some driving rock energy as if to try and keep the dream alive of the failing flame of the imagined relationship within the lyrics.

Don't Wanna Let You Go (Demo)

This song is way overdue a demo due to it being at least 5 years old. It's essentially a two chord vamp which is reminiscent of certain soulful, funky styles of music i've listened to over time. Just like most of my songs lyrical themes its a song that encourages myself and hopefully a listener to sit tight through your struggles, better things are around the corner.

'Go on and tell it to everyone you know' - A sentiment in this song that is in no way unique but here's my own way of saying it.

As a result of making this demo it became very 'The War On Drugs' inspired. This song is unusual in a structural sense as it is just based on the same loop/progression throughout. 'I want it like this' is purely based on emotion and is an expression of how once we are feeling 'high' as opposed to feeling low, we wish we could stay like that.

I still am pretty pleased with this song but production wise i'm not sure if the drums work with it because of the 'intricate' changes at certain points in the song. Still i think the rest of it holds up, perhaps...

Hello folks! My name is Josh and just like many other folk, i write songs and play guitar. I am currently in the Middlesbrough (UK) based band Nice Guy as lead guitarist but I write my own songs on the side. 

Here are my demos and recordings done by myself from over the past few years and up to now. As you may hear they range in style and sound as i like to keep things interesting and I often write in various styles and even genres you may say. They are only demos as one day i aim to do the real thing, providing life doesn't get in the way. Hope you enjoy what i have to offer in my songs :)
