The Domboshava album is a collective of song reflecting back on a trip I made in 2015-16 through Southern Africa. Telling stories of the people I met along the way. The song are specific to people, place, politic, history and experience.

Josh Lawson performs regularly on the Scottish Folk scene in Edinburgh, weaving traditional English, Irish and Scottish folklore into the melodic and lyrical content of his music.

His music draws inspiration from his fathers folk session nights around Leicestershire, England. Particularly one pub called the Blacksmith Arms, where musicians meet to exchange a mirriad of folk tales of a bygone age.

Heavily inspired by Nick Drake, Townes Van Zandt and Karen Dalton and their ability to highlight poignant aspects of the human condition, Joshua builds songs based on experiences and atmospheres.

His latest Album "Dream Woman" is a collection of songs inspired by friends, close and distant.
