A Career That Began With A Bang

One thing I've learned so far is that goats like their throats scratched, and their temples rubbed, too. I know a little about goats because we brought home two young neutered, dehorned males after a kidding.

The day was nearly done. My wife was home from her job as Activities Director at an Adirondack retirement community, and the kids were fed and homeworked. All that remained was time for a little fun before bedtime.

A Moose On The Loose

Within sixty seconds of racing into the house after we had returned from a camping trip our 8-year-old daughter burst back out the door red-faced and puffy-eyed. Tears poured down her cheeks. From inside I could hear the shrill screams of our 10-year-old son. No one needed to tell me the news.
