Raised in Aarhus by South African parents, Shaquille Beck McGosh has been DJing since he was just 14 years old and started producing at 19. Now with years of experience behind the booth and digging in crates for the most exciting rare gems, he runs Prom Night Records and can be found DJing every weekend in the Danish capital and beyond. Making a stir in the EU scene with his sets spanning sleazy disco cuts and chuggers, Italo house, afro-house, acid, techno and beyond, Shaq plays often in esteemed underground spots, as well as taking dancers on regular all-night journeys at Copenhagen’s Jolene.

With a sound he describes as nostalgic, groovy and sparkly, Shaq is heavily influenced by 80’s pop culture and stands out from the crowd with his captivating selections and thoughtfully crafted sets. Shaq says, “A lot of my productions are inspired by, or centered around a fusion of 70's and 80's Disco combined with modern and contemporary styles of House music.” However, his greatest musical inspiration comes from his parents, who fled South Africa in the late 1970s during apartheid. He grew up listening to their record collection spanning soul, funk, RnB, jazz, disco and hip hop.

With several HÖR Berlin streams, radio shows on Rinse FM, Refuge Worldwide, mixes for Ransom Note, NTS and more as well as his weekly local gigs across Denmark and abroad under his belt. This year Shaq has performed at some of Denmark’s biggest festivals including Distortion Festival, Roskilde Festival, Northside and Dutch Milkshake Festival. An essential artist to watch carving out his space in the EU underground, all eyes on Prom Night.

Après des années d’errance dans la ville natale bien-aimée de Lars, Hank, il était temps pour lui d’explorer la ville et la vie nocturne d’Utrecht. C'est là qu'il a commencé à organiser Disko Disko avec ses amis il y a 5 ans et à en apprendre davantage sur toutes sortes de musiques et de personnes. En plus d'organiser des fêtes, sa recherche constante de musique n'a cessé de croître, au point qu'il a décidé d'acheter 2 platines et une table de mixage. Avance rapide : Lars est désormais l'un des visages familiers de la vie nocturne d'Utrecht, devant ou derrière le stand, toujours souriant avec une bière à la main.

After years of wandering through Lars’ beloved hometown Hank, it was time for him to explore the city and nightlife of Utrecht. This is where he started organizing Disko Disko with his friends 5 years ago and learning more about all kinds of music and people. Besides organizing parties, his everlasting search for music started growing and growing, to the point that he decided to buy 2 turntables and a mixer. Fast forward: Lars is now one of the familiar faces of the Utrecht nightlife scene, in front or behind the booth, always smiling with a beer in his hand.

Here are the first 2 hours from my WRONG ERA set from last Friday, March 1st, 
at Loftus Hall in Berlin.

I had a super nice time playing there and I wanna say "THANK YOU!" to the hosts 
Franz Underwear, Emil Doesn't Drive & Sean Patrick Ironside for giving me this opportunity 
and applause to the incredible musical selection from Emil Doesn't Drive & Franz Underwear who were dj-ing before & after. 

Also to the excellent audience who was very much up for the (sometimes bumpy) ride through time and space. That was FUN!

Don't Stop, Keep It Going

Detroit educated Josh Dahlberg has been producing music and DJing for over twenty years. His analog-centered approach blends house, techno, electro, and experimental; most notably as The Valley and the Mountain (abbr. TVTM). As TVTM, Josh explores the tension between nature and technology to create everything from moody dance floor grooves and atmospheric soundscapes. 

Largely his pre-TVTM work was released on his former Blank Artists imprint as well as the Richie Hawtin-founded, D-Records. His TVTM releases appear on Belgium’s WéMè Records and Dutch label Shipwrec alongside artists like Drexciya’s Gerald Donald, DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, JD Twitch, and Ceephax Acid Crew.

Known as a versatile albeit reclusive artist, Dahlberg continues to explore the vastness of experimental electronic music while honoring his house and techno roots.
