This is a short piece for prepared piano which is split into three sections.

The first is the exploration of generating a 'prepared chord' with the use of the sostenuto pedal. The second (from bar 33) is the development of the same idea but through the overtones of the same chord held at a lower register and
through the melodic line causing resonance and amplification of those overtones. The third (from bar 58) yet another development of the original idea of using the sostenuto pedal but now with a melodic line with a counterpoint based
upon the orginal 'prepared chord'.

Becoming a father has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.  I used to hold my baby daughter with one hand, and play a riff on the piano with the other hand.  This riff expanded into an entire piece for a chamber orchestra.

Isolinear - Cello Duet

This piece is concerned with the perpetuation of a single harmony; through various timbres, pitch distortions (varying pitches) and melodic & rhythmic fluctuations.

The piece focuses around the generative nature of sound produced from the initial recording of the saxophone and the slow unveiling of the entire harmony throughout the piece and the instrumentalists support this sonic landscape not only with ornimental flouishes but responding to the specific textures created in order to give the whole soundscape a resounding echo of overtones and a sense of humanism.

Section 3 of the piece is an exploration of the harmonic framework from a new perspective and begins as Section 2 fades out but should be thought of differently than the other sections in how it is approached and should not be about the specific melodic or rhythmic patterns but the vertical nature of the music and the resonating echo after the playing of each note/chord.
