Kyryl Kyryk, known professionally as Kirik, is a Ukrainian DJ and producer hailing from Kherson. Since 2008, he has been deeply immersed in the electronic music scene, drawing inspiration from German, Romanian, and UK sounds. His music seamlessly blends deep, tech, and minimal elements, characterized by powerful grooves and a dynamic energy. Now, Kirik comes with a stunning five-track release on Cécille Records, the legendary label founded by Nick Curly and Marc Scholl, known for shaping the European house sound. The Hug EP showcases Kirik's refined house sensibilities- blending emotional depth with club functionality, and offering a diverse yet coherent listening experience for both DJs and house music lovers.

The journey begins with 'Hug,' the title track of the EP. It's a forward-driving piece full of energy, propelled by a strong central theme and tight percussive elements. Right from the first beat, the track sets the tone for the release - bold, rhythmic, and focused. Next up is 'What We Luv,' a groovier and more classic house cut, built around swinging rhythms and a looping structure that reflects Cécille's unmistakable identity. Its rolling energy and timeless feel make it a natural fit for the label's repertoire. 'Culminating' follows with a darker, more mysterious atmosphere. The track builds steadily with a hypnotic drive - never quite exploding, but continuously rising and tightening its grip on the dancefloor with every passing bar. Closing out the vinyl edition is 'Gemmy,' a track deeply rooted in the signature Cécille style of the early 2010s. Hypnotic grooves, shuffling swing, and an understated elegance define its sound. Kirik hits the label's essence here with pinpoint precision. As a digital-only bonus, 'Just A Dream' offers a personal touch. DJ Sneak and Tripmastaz collaborate as RareTwo Inc. for three soulful cuts entitled ‘The Blast Off’ EP, dropping on Hottrax in December. 

One of Chicago’s most renowned house music artists, DJ Sneak pairs up with Plant 74 founder Tripmastaz - one of Russia’s finest exports - once again under their collaborative guise RareTwo Inc. Initially collaborating on Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster label in 2014, the duo has continued to work together on labels like Ovum, Kaluki, Mr. Nice Guy and Reptile Dysfunction, before debuting their RareTwo Inc. moniker on Kwench Records earlier this year. Finding a fan in Jamie Jones, they now join Hottrax with ‘The Blast Off’ EP following outings from Mason Collective, System2, Kevin Knapp, Waze & Odyssey, and more. 

Funk infused samples, passionate vocals and an undulating percussive groove sets the tone in ‘Cum 2Geza’ before ‘Up High’ delivers a spiraling synth line and pulsating sub bass bouncing delightfully off the effervescent drums. ‘The Blast Off’ then finishes things off with luscious pads and rattling percussion to create a spirited atmosphere throughout.

RareTwo Inc - Cum 2Geza

Second release on Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’s Hot Creations label is the first release by hot new talent Robert James. A burgeoning producer, way ahead of his game who will soon be familiar for his insanely infectious music, not least for ‘Sleep Moods’ his debut EP.

‘Sleep Moods’ is the type of record that you never want to end. Drilling into the mind with rattling bells, rolling bass and echoed calls of ‘go deep… all night… no sleep’. This is an unstoppable dancefloor gem, catching your attention from first listen and leaving you wanting more. As ‘Sleep Moods’ breaks into its groove through haunting sirens and dark rave stabs that keep the energy levels stoked up, it leaves no doubt that Robert James is an original and skilled new artist.

On the flip ‘Connected’ is another explosive original, crackling with kickdrums and sharpened with supernatural synth stabs. In a similar vein to the sound of Jamie Jones, the Hot Creations label creator, you can see where these two producers have found common ground.

Completing the package, Parisien house afficionado Dyed Soundorom takes on a remix of title track, ‘Sleep Moods’. Producing a stripped back dubby version that works at any point of the night, a skill that Dyed has become renowned for. Dyed has been part of the Freak n’Chic crew for many years and has also released on Crosstown Digital Rebels, Spectral, murmur and Supplement Facts.
