SirTalksALot - Father

Simply because I can, here is a new song called OK2BwOKe.  The world is a crazy place and times they are a'changin'.  It's hop on the sensitivity bus with the cool kids or get left behind.  

Seriously, we've all said insensitive stuff...we've all laughed at the joke, if we didn't tell it.  At very least we didn't stand up to it.  I'm guilty.  So, this is a song about how we can all do better.  It's OK to be woke!  Don't be ashamed or embarrassed to consider the feelings and needs of others.  Moreover, stand up to those who DON'T!  

I admit, I've participated in the toxicity in the past, and I guess I understand why others don't "wake up".  It's hard and uncomfortable.  It doesn't feel great knowing you may have made someone feel bad because of something you could have easily helped.  I was once the master of the joke that went too far.  Then, I stepped back and examined what it was about me that found that funny.  Yeah...I wish people would wake up...but I can understand why they don't.  

Hopefully, this at least makes you laugh.  We can all affect change, little by little, and make the next generation's world a little nicer.  

I had fun writing and recording this.  I love mixing audio and I've honestly heard enough mediocre music in my life I figured I can at least do that.  

Still trying.

OK2bWoke - SirTalksALot

The fact that I struggled with whether or not to release this song told me it was necessary to release.  Chronicling a lifetime of struggle against the darkness, demons, and depression that comes with suicidal tendencies.  This song covers some of the highlights of my failures at taking my own life.  

It is true that for many years, I did not want to be in this world.  Thankfully, as the hook states, "I'm better at murder than suicide".  It seemed that I was so bad at killing myself, the only relief I could get was if I murdered the depressed sad bastard.  In 2009, I did just that.  That was my final attempt to leave this world by my own hand.  

I killed myself.  

Thankfully, with some therapy, time, and a lot of support, I was able survive.  So many don't, including my Brother, Robert.  He lost his battle in 1999 at the age of 28.  5 years later I would become older than my big brother.  

I call this creative catharsis.  The challenge, for me, as a voice actor, writer, and audio producer, was to write an original song, outside of my realm.  I wanted to produce it as I heard it in my head, but with a caveat.  Absolutely NO digital effects.  Other than standard processing and normalization, I wanted to create a sound using only my vocals.  

I hope this song helps others.  I hope it doesn't hurt anyone.  It hurt me enough.  

For what it's worth, today, I am mentally healthy, well adjusted, and positive.  I am ONLY able to write, record, and produce a song this dark thanks to the healthy headspace I am in today.  I put a lot of people through a lot of pain in my life with this sickness.  Hopefully, this can be seen as a way to heal and bring awareness and talk about the things we've always been too scared to say out loud.

My voice is featured on mobile games like Colour Catch and Bingo Blitz as well as VR Arcade simulators from Omni Arena.  I am also the radio station voice of ESPN's Charlotte affiliate, 730AM/97.5 The Game.

On television, you might have seen me getting murdered, witnessing a murder, or investigating a murder on shows like Homicide Hunter, Snapped: Killer Couples, Murder Comes to Town, and Investigation Discovery Channel Murder Mysteries, as well as other non-murdery TV shows.  My film credits include "Gold, You Idiot!", "Perimortem", and the upcoming stop-motion animated "The Undertaker's Daughter".
