Birmingham’s Fleur Shore joins Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint for the very first time with ‘Bret (Heads Down)’, a dynamic two-track EP that further cements her reputation as one of electronic music’s standout rising voices. Tipped early as one of the scene’s brightest talents, and having established herself as a BBC Radio 1 favourite thanks to a standout Essential Mix and her own BBC R1 Residency, Fleur’s arrival on Hot Creations feels like a natural next step, building on her acclaimed 2024 debut on sister label Paradise and regular appearances at the brand’s globally-renowned events. 

A nod to the iconic Amsterdam venue BRET, the title track ‘Bret (Heads Down)’ is a heads-down, groove-forward roller engineered for big moments. Crisp drums and subtle bass movements carry the track through a trippy, late-hours atmosphere, focusing on stripped-back tension and dancefloor hypnosis. On the B-side, ‘You Don’t Understand’ keeps the energy simmering with an all-action blend of vibrant vocal samples, heavy-hitting percussion and woozy old-school organ stabs, balancing attitude with atmosphere in Fleur’s unmistakable UK-influenced style. 

The release lands as Fleur continues her ascent through the global house circuit, following high-profile releases on labels like Cecille, Edible, and her own Undergrowth imprint, plus a non-stop touring that’s seen her recently land at Kappa Futur to Jones’ own Paradise In The City in London. [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] is pleased to present its 87th release: Anchoret (@anchoret) – Winter Cigarette EP.

The first release of this winter, where the cold of Pittsburgh turns into sonic vapor. In winter the city resembles a giant ashtray of concrete and steam. Here the winter cigarette burns not with tobacco, but with noise, rhythm, and deep reflections — as if the city exhales music through steel bridges and snowy winds.

Original works:
::: Winter Cigarette — Anchoret lights the first track, smoldering with a cold dub pulse that slowly spreads across riverbanks, bridges, and old rail lines. Every hit falls like snow; every click sparks like frost in the air.
::: Whatever — an inner detachment, nearly chaotic yet surprisingly focused. Anchoret exhales doubts through a steady, linear beat while the delay gathers fragments of thought into a single spiral.
::: Curious — a midnight rave inside an introvert’s mind: curiosity instead of aggression, bass instead of voice, space instead of answers.
::: Alabaster — like a lantern’s glow reflected in snow: white, yet filled with countless shades hiding the city’s old industrial tales.

Then the interpreters step in, each offering a new way to hold the cold with bare fingers:

::: Radio Badjay (@radiobadjay) rebuilds Whatever into a full radio transmission — as if the track bursts into late-night airwaves from afar.
::: Aritomi (@aritomi) reimagines Curious as a whisper inside a late-night metro train, where footsteps and bass fall in perfect sync.
::: Juan Moreno (@juanmorenomusica), in his Clear & Warm Remix, melts Alabaster from within: the snow under his hands does not dissolve — it begins to glow, softly, deeply, endlessly.

Winter Cigarette EP is like a trail of vapor in the frost: it vanishes, yet remains in memory. A sound that links Pittsburgh and Siberia with an invisible line of cold and rhythm. This release is a never-freezing smoke break for those who hear music in factory pipes, cracking ice, and the old whistle of the techno scene. Winter doesn’t ask if You’re ready.
