For its 4th release, Piff Records (@piff-records) recruits from as far afield as possible, tapping Adelaide-based Subjoi (@subjoi) who adds to his already diverse and sought-after discography. He presents a set of tracks that are somewhat of a departure from previous releases, employing a UK Garage sound all the way from Australia.

The EP’s title track, “Swerve” sits nicely above the most subdued sounds of the record. It’s an ethereal cut with barely-there vocals, the kind that’s saved for the very early hours; first light coming through to a gently swaying dancefloor.

"It's been a while Suze - you're looking more beautiful than ever" we utter, audibly nervously as the door slams open off it's hinges, nothing but blinding white light and the sonic textures of her most recent offering gradually crescendoing and filling up the room. "JEANS" she booms,  shattering the glass from our hands. "errm, are they new?" we stutter - the music now growing inhumanly loud. The light is vacuumed back through the door, the room is now silent and dully lit - a strange square shaped package is left in the middle of the room. We tear it open - "Ah, it's Jeans' new EP out on Whos Susan".

After all that drama, we put the record on and chose which track to share with you. This was X-Coast's beastly remix, which is about as gagging for 'tha cloob' as your 18 year old self, wearing your older brothers black winkle pickers draped with blue raw denim, foying of a Paco Rabanne gift set. The party is here everyone. Thanks once again, Suze.

Soulection Radio Show #381 ft. Tom Misch

We are thrilled to have Barbara Preisinger, Slices of Life's founder and Deep in the Box guru onboard for our Sol Asylum mix series.  She has been an integral part of the Berlin club scene since moving from Munich in the late 90s and we highly respect her dedication and vision in the electronic music scene. 
 Autumn 2009 Barbara Preisinger founded the 12inch vinyl label SLICES OF LIFE which is focused on organic sounding and diverse club music, with releases by Betke, Mike Huckaby, Baaz, John Tejada and The Mole.
The label´s founding year also marked the beginning of the event series DEEP IN THE BOX with regular parties at Berlin´s Club der Visionäre, Wilde Renate, Ipse among other places. In September 2015 Barbara Preisinger moved DEEP IN THE BOX to the Globus floor at Berlin´s legendary TRESOR club, where she has been hosting her parties every 2 months since then. This podcast is the perfect reflection of her diverse musical knowledge and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
