Martin @stimming has created a nice collection of OP-1 drum kits, free to download.

"The three kits consists of bass drums, claps, hats and shakers taken from my tracks, like The Anger, Sunday Morning and so on. The sounds are mostly handmade or hybrid. The bass drums either comes form an MBase or a Vermona DRM1.

Personally I found it hard to use the OP-1 for dance music without these very basic important sounds, so I decided to create my own kits. I did this because I love the machine and want to give a part of me to make it even better. Enjoy!"

Analog Rytm Sound Pack: Acid

An Op-1 drumkit containing a series of snippets of breaks from Needle Thrashers 2 by DJ Q-Bert.

YAM alternative firmware for the shruthi synthesizer. Showcasing the fmfb oscillators. I'm using two Shruthis (panned L/R) with the 4 pole mission filter board. Reverb, delay and compression were added.

Ext Box running a stock SE-02/MSR-modified sequence(1st time for almost everything).

Gorgeous Temple Bells courtesy of myNoise iPad app, filtered and driven very pleasantly through the External Input/Drive/HP chain, gated at times in an offhand but meaningful way by #charcotcircles, were recorded through the chunky audio out of the Ext Box; no USB-ing here.

DRIVE and HP (hi pass) figure prominently, as they should.

Light and selective normalizing and mastering—hurts sometimes to push those natural analog DC offsets and organic transients around... maybe it's just me.

SE-02 Ext Box - Temple Bass Convo

Hello everyone! This is a demonstration of the sound design work I did for the Novation Peak. I created 50 patches demonstrating some of the new features that the v1.2 firmware update has to offer. My sound pack is available for free with the update through Novation's Components App. Select the Novation tab on that app to access them as well as GForce Software's free patches. 

The patches are performed with a mixture of Octatrack sequencing (using sequences from songs I have written) and live performance with a MIDI controller. I was inspired by artists like Delia Derbyshire and wanted to record little vignettes and sonatas using the Peak without other sound sources.

I made this recording so that friends can hear the sounds I made and so that other Peak users can get a closer glimpse into how I envision sound design. Please get in touch if you have any questions about my process or anything else related to this project and I will respond as best I can. 

The Novation Peak was recorded directly into a Steinberg UR44 interface. No external effects. Subtle mastering from Tokyo Dawn Labs software to balance recordings of different patches. Thank you for listening!
