When you have an entire region overflowing with ceaseless talent just waiting to be embraced, it is a MUST that Caribbean connections should not only be built, but also continuously strengthened over time.

Monk Monté is no stranger to forming enduring bonds with fellow islanders, and with this latest track alongside Jamaica’s Reggae star Chris Martin, he adds another link in the musical bridge between Trinidad and Tobago and its exquisite West Indian neighbor.

One thing men from both these islands have in common is how much they relish bringing their patented Caribbean heat to women on dance floors both near and far. 

In the song Machel and Chris demonstrate this as they stir passions up and seduce the ladies into letting themselves “Soak” in the rich feel of the music, along with double the usual masculine vigor.

Andrew “Anju Blaxx” Myrie of Uptempo International Music (UIM) Records, a prominent name in Reggae circles, who has worked with artistes like Vybz Kartel, Tommy Lee, Movado, and Jah Cure, produced this alluring release adding an enticing feel that keeps listeners enwrapped and craving more.

The ambassador of Soca hits every sexy note possible on this one, even as he and Chris reinforce the ideal that in our region we are more powerful together than we can ever be apart.

Acid Camp Records launches now with its debut release, Simic's “Corot-7b." The Seattle-based artist's full-length EP, features four original tracks along with a remix of the record’s single “Corot-7b” by John Tejada. The 300-piece release is a double-sided 12” pressed in Europe, and mastered & cut in Berlin by Stefan at Scape Mastering.

The title track sets the mood for a truly special record. Deep at heart, the moody track brings an expansive, spacey vibe. It's a dynamic techno track that centers you. Tejada remixes “Corot-7b” into a groovier, forward-moving track with a bassline that brings forth a bouncy and overarching uplifting mood. Whether it be a sunrise set or poolside feels, this is what your perfect sun-filled day sounds like.

"Sysop 1" opens up side B with a catchy, quick-witted synth line that eventually draws in a light tempered shaker. The first two minutes of the track build you up to release you into an airy and atmospheric vibe. Then the synth line enters for a cosmic cool down that waxes and wanes between building the track up to bring it back down. The last track on the record, "Expressway," is light and dreamy — a diverse ambient track that can be the perfect warm up or cool down. The track makes eloquent use of percussion in the form of chimes, wood blocks, and bells.

This release holds court with Acid Camp’s expanding reputation. Just like the podcasts and parties, this record is uncompromisingly thoughtful and well curated. It lends to us surreal, forward-thinking tracks that are notably memorable & dynamic.

Carhartt WIP Radio is back and brings an extended trip into the world of the US-American duo Peaking Lights, consisting of Indra Dunis and Aaron Coyes. Since 2008 they bewitch with psychedelic influenced pop music that seems to be originated on another planet. So far, they have released more than eight albums on label’s like Night-People, Not Not Fun, Mexican Summer and the Domino imprint Weird World. You can add more than a dozen Eps and 7 inches, plus tapes and foremost countless live shows around the globe. For their 10th anniversary Aaron Coyes dug deep in the Peaking Lights archives and put together an epic Carhartt WIP Retrospective Radio Show that blends in a chronologic order some of their earliest recordings, some of his solo stuff and more unheard psyching music to display the progression of a duo that seems to have found the fifth state of consciousness.
