I remember reading Crash would start the 3rd island at this level since it begins outside, but this was switched to Heavy Machinery as Cortex Power would’ve been too hard.

This one has always stood out to me as one of the more unique and special tracks from Crash 1. I don't know what made you decide to mix these instruments together, because I would have never thought that harp or chello (I think, sorry no exprt) would

Fit so well into this otherwise very industrial sounding track. Normally, those instruments are something I associate with fairly tales, magical creatures and such. But it all just makes for a totally unique track unlike anything I've ever heard.

Josh Mancell is a Los Angeles-based composer. He has created music for multi-million unit selling video game franchises (Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter), Emmy award-winning television (Clifford the Big Red Dog), festival-acclaimed independent films (The Wake of Light, Love Comes to the Executioner, A Star for Rose, Eat the Sun, etc) and a diverse array of commercials (including Target, McDonalds, EA Games and AT&T), logos and other visual media. Josh is also involved with several bands as both a performer and a producer (Exploding Flowers, Vagrant Winter, Fun Time Objects, Cellborg) and has guest lectured/panel-participated at American Film Institute, Berklee College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, Sarah Lawrence College, UC Irvine, Cal Poly Pomona and LA College of Music College. His iconic music for the Crash Bandicoot video games was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2018 and music from both the Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games was performed by the Manchester Video Game Orchestra in 2022.
