Flow is a term invented by the scientist Mihayli Czikzentmihayl to describe the feeling one gets when they're in the heat of an activity and know exactly what they're doing. Its payoff is fiero, the feeling you get when you succeed at something you've been working to achieve. 

Both of these describe the joys of playing video games online, and that's what this stage will be based around. :)

Not much to say this time around. It's a Saturn-styled remix of Diamond Dust Zone ACT 2, and I've been working on this for.. about a week now?

As for the art, I did a thing of Nova as a Sonic X styled character, liked it, didn't have anything else for the cover art, so.. There it is. Also, logo. ....Hope you guys like it?

Movement Of The Tides

Here's a rough mix of what became Electron Avenue for Crash Nitro Kart. It's mostly what ended up in the final track, except it's not mixed in any real way, so it's very dry and lacks any real energy. I focused mostly on vibe, melody and instrument choices when working on this game. The goal was to not veer too far from what a slightly upgraded soundset from CTR would be, with it's own character added. I think if I slammed with with some compression it would sound great, but I'm showing off the rough since I think it could also do with some panning and overall fader riding.

Josh Mancell is a Los Angeles-based composer. He has created music for multi-million unit selling video game franchises (Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter), Emmy award-winning television (Clifford the Big Red Dog), festival-acclaimed independent films (The Wake of Light, Love Comes to the Executioner, A Star for Rose, Eat the Sun, etc) and a diverse array of commercials (including Target, McDonalds, EA Games and AT&T), logos and other visual media. Josh is also involved with several bands as both a performer and a producer (Exploding Flowers, Vagrant Winter, Fun Time Objects, Cellborg) and has guest lectured/panel-participated at American Film Institute, Berklee College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, Sarah Lawrence College, UC Irvine, Cal Poly Pomona and LA College of Music College. His iconic music for the Crash Bandicoot video games was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2018 and music from both the Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games was performed by the Manchester Video Game Orchestra in 2022.
