Further departing from both the cinematic abstraction of ‘Piteous Gate’ and the hectic drums of ‘Damaged Merc’, Berlin producer M.E.S.H.’s new full-length, ‘Hesaitix’, is marked by its hyper-ornamented rhythms and a sense of pensive, moonlit spaces.

The atmosphere has shifted; the radical deconstruction of previous releases has given way to subtler interventions, building new structures in strange territories. Shifting from the meditative to states of manic unease, Hesaitix is an unnerving injection into both the social space of club music and the interior space of digital audio fantasy.

How did I become so stupid?

A sound can be both formless and over-rendered, like a boneless but fleshy hand from a life drawing class.

What agent could set these broken sounds in motion?

A laugh behind an evil curtain. A drummer that’s cool and grotesque, a detuned siren. A brushfire under a full moon.

Recorded in Berlin and Umbria, Hesaitix sees Janus resident and PAN staple M.E.S.H. firmly engaged in a kind of sonic worldbuilding, a place where the unconscious and the alien intersect.

The album is mastered by Rashad Becker, featuring artwork by Michael Guidetti & James Whipple.

PTP's Dis Fig wrote this 13-minute composition as partial score to Chinese performance artist Tianzhuo Chen's latest piece, 'An Atypical Brain Damage.'

"This (music) is taken from the piece’s most suspenseful climax, where a psychological twist turns into a violent murder scene. The main character sings a final love song to her husband before she slaughters him, over and over again, until he is finally destroyed and her mind can rest in the bloodbath." 

'An Atypical Brain Damage' is the latest 90-minute performance piece by China's Tianzhuo Chen, in which a delusive world is created through the fusion of techno culture, queer aesthetics, and social media horror stories to surrealist folk-stories by Chinese avant-garde fiction writer, Can Xue. These tales play with communist ideology while referencing American living and dreaming, all within themes of existential struggle.

@pureimmanence is the DJ duo of Nick Bazzano (@nmb2115) and @kiddosincere. They are residents with New York underground queer rave collective Unter, where they have been able to craft a sound that includes and entangles psychedelic techno, ambient moodscapes, and experimental electronic grooves. They also hold an eponymous Wednesday-night residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club which just celebrated its two-year anniversary this past July. Pure Immanence has been privileged to perform for and work with various rave collectives and festivals both locally and abroad, including Sustain-Release, Fourth World, Buttons, Pornceptual, and the WHOLE United Queer Festival.

Adopting the December alias for his debut 12” on Blackest Ever Black, the Parisian wizard Tomas More found a perfect fit for his slow and moody techno cuts. Fast forward a few years and More has released recordings across a variety of labels, each record seeming to naturally follow on from the last. His signature noise driven, EBM influenced club tracks are becoming more and more fierce, an ‘Exponential Growth’ as his latest EP for Jealous God might assume. Much of December’s music manages to make the most out of minimal drum patterns, part nod to primitive early 80's industrial and part testament to his ability to craft dance music that is always interesting yet often intrinsically simplistic. December has recently been focusing on utilising his own voice and adding another layer to his sound in the process, a new direction which he will debut on an upcoming 12” for Helena Hauff’s Return to Disorder imprint and an LP later in the year. December’s DJ mixes are equally inspired, joining the dots between punk electronics, wave, new beat, techno and industrial with relative ease. He is available for both live PA and DJ set performances, as well as a new live A/V in collaboration with French artist Laura Gozlan.

She is lead A&R for Format Recordings, resident DJ and co-producer of their weekly techno podcast series, Format.FM, and joint curator of the Format underground warehouse event series. A classically trained pianist and saxophonist, her expansive understanding of structure and rhythm allows her to draw inspiration from all kinds of music, from soulful jazz to dark, gritty drum and bass.
