For their Fare Classics series, Italian disco lords Fare Soldi this time put their hands on one of their all time favourite bands: the Beastie Boys.
And they do it with a dirty rendition full of funk of one of the partiest jam from the NY iconic trio: “Hey Ladies” from 1989’s masterpiece “Paul’s Boutique”.
Cowbells, screaming mariachis, the raw flow of Mike D., Ad-Rock and MCA are all there, mixed with a nasty frico disco vibe from Fare Soldi.
Another party jam perfect to make the dancefloor sweat and smile.

Won't Get Fooled Again (Josh One Remix) OFFICIAL

This started off as an attempt to remix a Beatles song to sound as if it had been recorded by Radiohead. It turned into one of my favorite projects and probably my best non-original work. It features extensive bowed guitar samples from a session I had March of 2012, Tibetan monk chanting, and a tambura drone. Other samples include a pedal D on my hammond organ, tablas from Within You Without You, the guitar solo from Taxman, the drums and bass from Helter Skelter, and various elements of Dear Prudence.

My plan was to not remix, but re-play the song in a full live setting, as if in 1975 Bowie recorded the original and then flew to Brooklyn (or even Jamaica) to cut another take with my players. Everything was recorded 100% analog to tape. All on equipment that was available before 1975. My approach was to take influence of the Jamaican musicians (and recording styles) of the mid-seventies, and their infatuation with American Soul music. If you dig it, that would be great. Knowing that BOWIE digs it, I’m over the moon.
