As a celebration for our 50th release on katharsis, we return to our traditional ritual of recycling, repurposing, and reimagining our catalogue with the sample pack "Grand Ritual Flux". Just as we did on our previous sample packs “Emotional Core Sequencing” and “Affective Nucleus Extraction,” we have meticulously scanned and sifted through our recent discography, extracting spectral fragments, textural residues, and harmonic echoes - assembling and categorizing them into an expansive, ready-to-use .wav sample pack for your DAW of choice.

Grand Ritual Flux embodies both continuity and transformation, a sonic commemoration of our evolving past and uncertain future. The method remains intuitive: deep listening, careful slicing, and free association, allowing the pack to take shape as a natural extension of the katharsis ethos. At its core, this project is about removing barriers to creation and demotivating the gatekeeping culture. As a defiant gesture against the constraints of copyright, we invite all to reshape, manipulate, and breathe new life into the sound of katharsis. We encourage you to use these samples freely in your own productions - as always, we are eager to hear what emerges from the ever-expanding flux of creativity.

To demonstrate the potential within Grand Ritual Flux, label founder jjjacob has crafted two tracks exclusively using sounds from the pack.

"Memory Music" is the debut EP from Danish composer and sound artist David Engelbrecht, aka Dudde, coming out in full on April 24th on katharsis. Crafted over several years through the careful gathering and processing of sonic fragments, the release captures the emotional weight and wonder of sound as memory. Each track is a small time machine, inviting listeners to drift between past and present - those moments when a single sound unlocks a flood of forgotten feelings, places, and people.

Moving seamlessly between ambient textures and sharp, high-paced drum patterns, Memory Music balances clarity and chaos with a sense of play. Breakbeats collide with nostalgic synth lines, melodic motifs shimmer alongside digital shadows, and echoes of vintage videogames flicker in and out like ghosts. It’s music that remembers and reimagines all at once - where fragments of the past become blueprints for the future.

Nemo’s new single ‘Monster’ unfolds in a nightmare where the narrator confronts the fear and alienation she provokes in others. With lines like “I call for help / But my mouth sewn shut / Reach out but my claws fray / Everything I touch, ” the listener is drawn into a dark  state of desperation and isolation. Nemo’s distinctive, almost naive vocals stand in sharp contrast to the pounding drums and distorted textures, creating an underlying unease that permeates the entire track. With ‘Monster’, Nemo merges fragility and ferocity in an intense tale of being trapped in one’s own nightmare.

Looking forward to releasing the album ‘Blue Is The Colour of Infinity', Nemo has made her mark in the Copenhagen underground scene with her dreamy sound and quirky DIY approach. In her blue universe, punk’s raw energy meets the delicate textures of electronic music in a unique brand of fantasy-pop. Behind the detailed productions Nemo stands as a distinct songwriter who explores life’s mysteries—from the depths of the ocean to the infinity of the cosmos—within a socio-critical view, where economic growth and technological progress are questioned.

Shaped by her time in the punk band Pogo Polis and the critically acclaimed power trio Jenny, Nemo has crafted an uncompromising sonic universe where airy vocals and playful synths melt into melancholic guitar motifs and dark themes. Her music has caught the attention of major media outlets, receiving praise from the danish music magazine Soundvenue and airplay on Danmarks Radio. Internationally, she has also been spotlighted by magazines such as Swine Daily and Test FM for her lead-up to the album release.

Nemo releases through Rhizome, a Copenhagen-based label founded by Aria Leth Schütze and Mads Krue Bugge in 2020. Rhizome is dedicated to experimental music and alternative release formats, with a strong focus on Copenhagen’s underground scene. In addition to various releases, the label has put out compilation albums such as bag/belly/box and Hypersea.
