Story of the Song: 
About a year ago I made a beat that I was in love with at the time. Fast forward to early June and I heard an incredible song called "Higher Place" by Fells and featuring Kimmie Devereux. I fell in love with Kimmie's voice and sent her the beat I had from a while back. She immediately began writing to it and after a couple back and forths between her and me, we settled on a song called "Sometimes." Once she recorded, I ended up rewriting the entire instrumental with a very talented producer named Will Snyder to fit the vibe I wanted for the song more. I really really really really really hope you like this one! Much love ❤️✌️

Here is “Live It“ with the incredible Mary Shannon

Story of the Song: 
In early December, Mary Shannon sent me a voice memo of the first verse of the song. I loved it and we immediately began working on it. We wrote the rest (my part) together, recorded vocals, and I finished the production soon after. I have been taking vocal lessons lately and really wanted to push myself and be the lead singer on part of the song. I practiced and practiced and ultimately got my voice to a place where I felt I could “hold my own” in the second verse. Mary Shannon crushed her part, as always, in my opinion. I really hope you like it! Stay tuned because the next song is sooner than you think and I maaaayyyyy be singing on the entire thing.

Josh Rubin, a singer/songwriter and producer from Austin, TX, started playing guitar and piano from an early age. He came onto the scene in 2015 and made his way up the ranks of the dance music world as a powerhouse vocalist.

In 2022, Josh’s life changed - he moved to LA to attend ICON Collective to further his production skills. While continuously releasing collabs on Monstercat, Seeking Blue, Bassrush, and Welcome Records; his focus has been on his craft, writing and recording music that speaks to the mind of fellow OVRTHNKRS. 

After releasing his debut electronic EP ‘Playing with Fire’ in the summer of 2023, this marked the beginning of what we expect to see on the stage throughout 2023/2024 as he transitions from a vocalist to live DJ. Expect performances filled with live vocals, that is where Josh Rubin will shine as he continues to break barriers in the dance music scene.
