LIVE RECORDINGS

Ariel Zetina is a Chicago based artist, focusing in music production, deejaying, and writing. Though her music can be considered techno, she takes inspiration from Chicago house, Belizean punta, and the queer club scene worldwide. These influences can be heard on 2020’s “MUAs at the End of the World” EP (Femme Culture); and "Marsh" (self released); 2019’s "Organism" (Majía); “Shell” (Head Charge); and 2017’s “Cyst” (Boukan Records). Her DJs sets have been worldwide. She is a resident at the legendary house club Smartbar, co runs the party/mix series Rumors, and is on Discwoman’s roster. She is also a playwright, and has had her plays performed in Chicago, California, NYC, and Baltimore.

"(this is a lot of "club era" songs aka 2014ish? I am finding myself revisiting this era a lot and finding new rhythms and melodies in these tracks. A lot of these were in my mixes around that time and this is kind of a refurbished and recontextualization of those sounds. That just sounded heady- it's first and foremost a dance mix. "

i feel silly offering advice since i am still really new to DJing, lol. but! one thing i try to use as a guide for myself in all parts of life, and specifically in exploring music and DJing, is taking comfort in the fact that i will never know everything and understanding that there is always something to learn somewhere else or from someone else. thinking of myself as a student keeps me infinitely more

Club Chow (he/they) is a Taiwanese-American DJ and queer rave enthusiast based in Chicago. An omnivorous selector, he blends tracks across genres and eras with an undercurrent of euphoric energy and playfulness. A creature is born out of the ashes of human remains after a mass extinction event. Emerging into a new world where nothing else shares its consciousness, it assembles clues to its lineage through the drum, pitched instruments, and the human voice. Slowly accumulating more and more breakbeats over time, it goes through phases of discovery and learning before reaching an eventual cacophony – the overwhelming pain of knowing the fatal flaws which cause its ancestors’ demise. Eventually it reaches a gentle reconciliation, an understanding of its history with the courage to move forward in its own light in a grim new world.

AFTRMTH (Kyle Rogers) is a DJ and musicologist based in Brooklyn. Raised by jazz musicians, he came to dance music through the queer DIY scenes in 2010s NYC and Atlanta. Though his sets span genre and tempo, he has a particular affinity for the rhythmic experiments of jungle and drumfunk and the bassweight of dubstep. He is a graduate student at the NYU Department of Music.
