Septic Snake and Joshua A.C. Newman got to be there as General Lee was removed from the top of the marble memorial to Richmond's African American citizens. I'm glad they removed that eyesore from such a colorful, powerful emblem of the city's democracy.

This has been a really awful five years and it's hard to face the next one with any sort of hope. Our country is being debilitated, as predicted, by a lack of healthcare while our political system is trapped between equivocated disinterest and active malice.
We're all far from each other right now. I miss people I love so much.

I couldn't get this track to start moving for me until I embraced that it's expressing how I feel. Then it all started clicking into place.

I don't feel like I need hope in order to go on. I haven't needed it in the past. And there's some in this track anyway. 

All sounds are from my Black Centipede weirdass modular synthesizer. I've used Paulstretch on some samples to turn the rhythmic into the textural, and turned a couple samples backward to give them some flow.

This makes me really want to see what a Paulstretch rack module could sound like.

A modular made of a Behringer Neutron doing LFO and S&H duty, a homebuilt Kastle outputting rungles and audio, and the DIY Voice Nodulator grain mangler(built on an Axoloti Core)answering the Kastle. I asked them who they meet in the deep oceans of the universe and this was their answer.

In three parts, with a subtle live change in patch at each point.
