The phenomenal sound of the Market Stage is where my systems are calibrated and standards are set for the rest of the year. For me it is the best party in the world. From the flawless logistics to the amazing psychedelic art gallery to the best food I've had at a festival, you can feel the attention to detail everywhere. 

What I love the most is the quality of human interaction, the many encounters with the kindest, most generous and enlightened people. Once again, many friendships have been forged".

We've been able get to know Patrice well over the past few years and it has made being part of sharing this piece of music even more special . He is an extremely talented artist but more importantly a beautiful person, you can't help but hear that in his productions and sets. Patience, love, and connection to the audience. 

For us this set was easily one of the best of the festival, setting the tone for one of the greatest blocks of music in Rainbow history with Michael Mayer, Petar Dundov, and Shlomo to follow. 

This is as good second time around as it was Sunday evening on the market stage... ENJOY!!

Today Maribou State announce 'Nervous Tics (DJ Tennis Remix)’ - the latest in a series of remixes to come from their new album “Kingdoms In Colour”, released on 7th September on Counter Records. Following a recent remix from Maceo Plex, and ahead of a forthcoming remix from Adesse Versions, DJ Tennis (founder of the Life and Death record label) takes on album highlight ‘Nervous Tics’ featuring Holly Walker on vocals with his classic touch, preserving the warmth and fragility of the original but rebuilds the track on a sleek, muscular 4/4 foundation.

As well as their upcoming Roundhouse live-show the newly formed five piece have now sold out all of their upcoming dates in 2018, and recently announced a headline show at London’s Brixton Academy on 7th March 2019 which sold over 60% of tickets in one week, as well as their first live tour of the US and further EU tour dates in 2019.

"Kingdoms In Colour” is Maribou State’s first full-length since 2015’s breakthrough debut album “Portraits”. The record entered the UK album charts at #25 and features singles ‘Feel Good’ - a collaboration born of their friendship with Houston-based trio Khruangbin; ‘Turnmills’ - aimed at raising awareness for the The Night Time Industries Association's #SaveNightlife campaign to protect the UK’s most vulnerable music venues from closure; and continues their long standing relationship with Holly Walker (vocalist on fan favourites ‘Steal’ and ‘Midas’) on ’Nervous Tics’ which is currently on the 6 Music A list.

Beginning life in 2011 as a project between Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, Maribou State had released a string of EP’s and singles before the arrival of debut album “Portraits” propelled them to the world stage. Spawning a live show that took them around the globe and included standout festival performances at Glastonbury, Bestival, a headline slot at Sonar by Day and Secret Garden Party; a 32-date European tour plus dates throughout Asia, Australia and America. They received radio support from the likes of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Gilles Peterson, multiple additions to the BBC 6 Music A-list, a 5-show BBC Radio 1 Residency, a slot on the legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and performed a session Live from Maida Vale. Critical support came from the likes of The Guardian, i-D magazine and Vogue, with the album amassing over 80 million streams to date and drawing comparisons to acts such as The xx, James Blake & Mount Kimbie, as well earning them plaudits from the likes of DJ Koze and Bonobo.

Opening the EP is title track Upperground, an ethereal upbeat House tune which has been an essential component of the sets of Solomun in the past weeks. Atlas showcases their ability to step over to the dark side with a fist-pumping melodic Techno thumper.Closing off the record is Dont Bring Me Down, which was written by Dino Lenny and enhanced by ARTBATs brush into an emotional dancefloor hymn. The pairing of its string arrangements and the touching vocals of Dino Lenny will surely make for memories that last past the night out in which you hear it.

The 162nd edition of GVR comes from Brooklyn-based DJ & producer and Cityfox Resident Brian Cid. His original productions have found homes on a number of the most credible and tastemaking record labels, with a style that touches melodic techno, deep house, progressive house and more, with no boundaries whatsoever.

Brian’s debut album "Meteorite Man" has been released on the legendary label Balance Music, alongside his original productions that can be found on imprints such as Fabric, Audiofly’s Supernature, Guy J’s Lost & Found, Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical, microCastle, Manjumasi, Cityfox and more. Support on his music has come across the board from both longstanding DJ legends, as well as the new wave of club tastemakers. Everyone from Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and Joris Voorn, to Adriatique, Dami an Lazarus, Thugfucker, and Tale of Us have championed the sounds of Cid.

Never one to be content in his accomplishments, the next chapter in the musical journey of Brian Cid is the recent launch of his project Endangered: a deep journey to the eclectic side of electronic music. The Endangered concept is both a record label for Brian to showcase his own music as well a s other high-caliber artists he respects, but also an event series that combines music with live performance & art. With Endangered now in full throttle, the label is set to release "Light In The Lotus" EP, the return to the label from founder Brian Cid at the end of May 2019.

Selador Sessions 26 | Dave Seaman

Madrid-based Henry Saiz has been releasing music since 2006, his music some of the most diverse and sound-spanning in house music today. He founded the Natura Sonoris label in 2009, which was recognized and lauded as the best of the year by DJ Mag Spain. But one imprint wasn't enough: 2017 saw the advent of his Lost Worlds Records, on which he debuted Calor, a record from his alter-ego, Hal Incandenza. His first album as Hal Incandenza is a foray into dancey synth-pop that exhibits Saiz' versatility. The following year, Saiz evolved yet again to release Human under the alias Henry Saiz & Band, taking the synth-pop sounds of Calor and adding more intense, cinematic hues, with a strong spotlight on vocals and lyrics not heard in any of his prior EPs.

Those cinematic hues—grand, evocative of differing moods but harmoniously synergistic—are ever-present in this Foxcast. It spans from high-energy, melodic house to epic, organic instrumental scenes reminiscent of his work with his Band.

He's a mainstay at clubs and festivals the world over, from Glastonbury, Sonar and Ultra, so it's an absolute delight to host Henry when he makes his Cityfox and Brooklyn Mirage debut for a very special b2b session with fellow Spaniard Edu Imbernon.
