For the 74th entry in the Honcho Podcast Series, we welcome the NYC duo @wreckednyc. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the world has been force to shift into a state of quarantine.  The lives of many were upended as our community faced a massive wave of cancellations and lost revenue. We've weathered the storm before and together we can do it once again. We hope that this music serves you well and provides a source of comfort.

Honcho Podcast Series 74: Wrecked (9th Year Anniversary)

While all of us are living the quarantine life, Good Room has asked friends and residents to share mixes for our Solitude Series so you can dance on your own. The third mix comes from Juan MacLean. Juan played the opening night of Good Room back in 2014 and has been a regular fixture at the club ever since. Juan has released several albums for DFA Records and has made everything from electroclash, disco-punk and electro to techno, house and deep house.

Here's what he had to say about the mix - “I have recreated the first hour of my last set at Good Room. On March 7th I closed out the night at Good Room. It was an epic night, one we had all been looking forward to for months, a lineup stacked with good friends, all amazing performers and human beings. There was Josh JDH and Dave P., Thomass Jackson, Zombies In Miami, and me in the Main Room, Factets and Rocco Desentis in the Bad Room.  It might have been my favorite night I’d ever had there. I got there 4 hours before my set and danced non-stop with friends. Little did I know it would be the last Saturday night Good Room would be open for who knows how long now. One thing I do know is that when the first party happens there again I will be there, whether as a DJ or a dancer or both, and you’ll have to carry me out of there when it’s over!"

From the high holidays of She-aster in the spring and Pride in October, to local mainstays Deep South and Church @ Sister Louisa's, Vicki is a party starter and community builder. As a mentor, she has given birth to up and comers whose voices travel near and far. Behind the decks she is a powerhouse, making the children raise their hands to gospel house in church and lose their minds by the pool at GHT. Vicki Powell is the one who taught us to fuck fear, the rave mom we all crave but don't deserve, and we are so glad she is here.
