Another ditty written with the 'Return Desmond' structure, this is a particular favourite of mine. Melodies step up into the upper register, and an unusual key change finds the final bars of each tune, lending an uncertain, unfinished quality to the turnaround.

The Disappointment / The Uncertainty

Waltzes. Grab your partner in a ballroom hold. The first tune is a rehash of a GCSE composition.

This tune holds nostalgic stock; it was the first Skedaddle piece to be arranged and embodied, for me, the banterish, japesterish tendencies that may as well have been a mission statement.

The Turkish Wench-Magnet / The Lizard's Innards

The impromptu introduction to this rendition is now standard.

The Reggae Reggae Sauce / The Bag In The Wind

This track is the audible offspring of Jimmy Shand and Scott Joplin. At the time I was playing in a Ceilidh band and a forties-stroke-fifties swing outfit; both influences are clearly heard here methinks. 

I remember bringing this tune to the rehearsal, well impressed with Noah's immediate 'perfect fit' rhythm guitar. Then I remembered his background in Ceilidh, the Slaithwaite Moonraking festivals organised by his parents.

There's also a little Tchaikovsky in this baby.

The Jester's Jam Jar / The Wild Goose Chase

Two numbers rolled into one, each played twice; in the trade that's called a 'two-two' or a 'Desmond'! This is a 'Return Desmond' since the first tune makes a comeback to wrap up.

Always a fun one to play live, I love the drop into the first tune's B-section where it comes over all major-seventh. Then there's some nice urgency captured in the second tune.
