Spooky Story (Where Death Lies)

Think this would make it to Dune's soundtrack? Let me know in the comments! After seeing composer Hans Zimmer perform “Paul’s Dream”, I decided to create an entirely new rendition of the mood I felt when I first heard his masterpiece. Thus, "Search" was born.

An emotional yet inspiring song that takes listeners through an original cinematic experience, I wanted Search to feel like you were being immersed in an epic soundtrack and the world of what I felt to be Dune's vibe before the first film even hit theatres. Maybe even worthy enough to be a part of one of the sequels or Dune Prophecy's next season.

The objective was to create a song out of my schoolmates' artwork. As for me I chose two artworks that my friend Selen had made in ceramics. Those two were an Egyptian facemask and a small heart for Deborah Heart. Thus, I present to you, the Heart of Egypt.

Short and Sweet (Improvised 8-beat song on Iphone)

This song was made for a final project in my Women's Literature course and was done using Studio One.

The central theme is the Female Beauty Ideal, a system where men and women alike are conditioned to attach a woman’s worth directly to her appearance and which literally creates a larger-than-life standard of beauty that women to this day try to obtain and by which guys today judge women. The song is a call to not conform to this system and to free the mind of its captivity.

Decided to take advantage of my quarantine and thought of the #24hours24bars challenge, where I could force myself to write 24 bars within 24 hours. I spent the first night making this beat, and then the clock started! I put my pen to work the next day and this is what came out.
