Nursultan Kun’s latest offering on swings and undulates with a deep groove, before introducing gorgeous strings and plucked synths that arrive seemingly out of nowhere.

The Kazakh artist’s title track, Dark Silence, sets the stage perfectly for what is to follow: a collection of stories that offer both style and substance, rhythm and melody.

Kun expertly introduces piano keys and tribal drums midway through Midnight Moon, the EP’s groove-heavy second track, before briefly flirting with his signature strings once more. But instead of allowing the strings to continue to swell, he instead takes us back to the groove.

The project’s third cut, Deep In The Shadows, provides the EP’s most reflective and touching track. Melancholic keys chime with beautiful synth plucks as the producer brings back his elegant strings for a final time. The track is slow enough to be relaxing and meditative, but at its core retains the same groove that makes the rest of Kun’s tracks so danceable.

These three delightful tracks are accompanied by an equally strong remix package, featuring an emotive reinterpretation of Dark Silence by Mass Digital, a bouncy and energetic flip of Midnight Moon by Weird Sounding Dude, and finally a remix by Draso of Deep In The Shadows that accentuates the calming atmosphere of Kun’s original track.

As we close out 2023, we’re absolutely ecstatic to release our fourth installment of our ‘Sensations' compilations series. The theme this time was more ‘chill’ and 'smooth’ to welcome the end of the year.

The project opens with Joshua Moreno, who delivers a meditative and monumental piece titled ‘And From Something, It Left..’. A direct follow up to his last release on our previous Sensations release.

We then have a wonderful return by jarodpanda after his debut EP ‘Hiccup' release earlier this year. His track ‘Undone’ is definitely a groove, with smooth chords and powerful drums.

OSHA brings his usual vibrant and amazing style with his track ‘Rollercoaster’ which features some serene vocal work and enigmatic bass rolling.

Debuting his first release on the label, we have Jay Newman. A very well-crafted producer, with hugely supported backing from some massive A-Listers such as Camelphat, Fatboy Slim, Gorgon City and many more. His track ‘Your Mind’ certainly takes you on an emotive journey.

Mojulo make his long-awaited return to the label with his energetic and ridiculously catchy ‘e.s.t.i.l.a.y.' piece. With riveting drums and solid bassline, his track is a must-have for any pumping DJ set.

Zoeken once again delivers his prestigious production skills on his track ‘Hope’. His captivating bass line is met with enormous and sultry melodies and ear candy galore. Always a treat to listen to his productions.

Another one of our hard-working residents, AllezVed graces us with his monstrous track ‘Arc Fault’. Deep bass growls and a slamming kick are always a great combo but add some delicious ear candy and melody on and you’ve got a dancefloor beast.

Javi Dorantes also makes a wonderful and welcomed return with his very focused and melodically profound track ‘Pensamientos’. Percussion and arps play amazingly within each other as a silky piano progression glue it all perfectly.

And finally, we have our power-worker and local resident, GYS (TT). His ‘Doty/Marsh’ style influence has definitely helped him to deliver his infectious track ‘Do You Remember’. Slapping drums and heavy bassline are always a recipe for a stomping on the dancefloor.

Future Avenue is thrilled to welcome back Tojogo to the label with his latest offering, the "Conundrum EP". This British producer initially made his mark on the label in 2022 with his debut EP, "Actuality", and has since gone on to deliver captivating remixes for several other artists under our banner. Adding to the excitement, his new original track has received a remix treatment by none other than the legendary Moonface, also known as Phil Thompson, hailing from the UK. With a career spanning back to 2000, Moonface was one of the first artists signed to the then-new Bedrock label and later assumed the role of resident DJ for Bedrock label nights, following in the footsteps of Danny Howells. It's truly an honor to have him join us on the label!

From Turkey, we extend a warm welcome to Sohrab G., whose journey with us dates back to 2016 when he released an EP on our 3rd Avenue label. Since then, he has left his mark on esteemed labels such as Soundteller Records, Consapevole Records, Balkan Connection, and Stellar Fountain.

Last but certainly not least, we are delighted to introduce SimWou from Montreal, Canada, making his label debut. Earlier this year, one of his tracks was also featured on our 3rd Avenue label, showcasing his talent and paving the way for this exciting new collaboration.

If you’re anything like us, your life comes with a soundtrack that’s shaped through musical memories. Some melodic moments are cerebral, while others are more corporeal. But either way, pressing play has a tendency to transport you right back to the state of mind where you were when you left them. The latest Moonlight Mixtape is a compendium of that brand of sonic spell-casting, and behind the curtain, The Duchess holds court. As the founder of Coven Collective—Denver’s fastest-growing all-female DJ collective—she’s a leader in Denver’s dance music landscape. And as a literal scholar of sound and the founder of frequency-bending Resonant Medicine, this week she has us truly bewitched.

Vocals are the star of her ascent to apogee, including a breathtaking opening of mournful melancholia that centered us with our mood and our movement from the get-go. The Duchess’s selections simmer slowly—the first half of the mix is a build that’s a little more deliberate than demanding. But the interplay of delicate flamenco riffs and call-and-response canticles incites a fired-up and primal feeling that’s underscored by a ravenous progressive rhythm. 

The summit of this set is a show of skill, as she weaves shades of electro, tech house, Afro, and soul between expansive breakdowns and deep, heavy drops. The hour’s electric second half is constructed on a dance between reaction and recollection—sparkling synths over dynamic darkness are a contrast that calls up echoes of early Royksopp, and the finishing touches are built from the rise and re-emergence of eclectic, ecstatic voices.
