Bio 

East London born and Essex raised producer & dj Josh Smith has been producing music and djing since 2016.

Early years in discovering electronic music his style and taste was darker and faster paced with Tech-House and Techno being the first real influence and gateway into the underground scene.

Josh would go onto release his first EP ‘Melodic Grooves’ with Antarctic Records the same year of 2016.

In more recent years Josh has gravitated towards more of the Rominimal and Microhouse sound. Definitely favouring the eastern european intimate tones and energies.

Josh has gone onto release records with The Lab Records, Whoystro Ltd, Tanapa Records, Microgarden Lab, and Miaw to name a few.

In 2021 he secured his first residency with the up and coming brand ‘Select Sounds’ this is currently where you can catch him showcasing his sound and mixing abilities.

We are pleased to share with you the first episode of our new in-house mix series ‘flurtcast original’.
flurt presents to you an 81 minute selection of mysterious stripped back grooves, served as the series opening showcase and in our opinion best encapsulates our sound and ethos. 

Since there are no identities associated with this particular series the artist has complete creative freedom, enabling the performer to be as experimental and adventurous as they please, all whilst keeping listener on their toes and fully engaged at all times. 001 has the customary components of rominimal and microhouse, enticing its audience with eerie pads, soft percussions and atmospheric undertones complemented by the usual raw hypnotic basslines. This combined with the use of subtle effects and well placed transitions ensures that each track blends seamlessly. 

Along with launching these monthly flurtcast originals we will also be debuting our guest mix series ‘flurt w/ friends’ these mixes will releasing consecutively in between our in-house flurtcast series.

“Bette’s Bondage” channels the tortured emotions of Of Human Bondage, transformed into a seductive yet unsettling dancefloor journey. “Hekyll & Jyde”, the EP sets the stage with a dark twist on the Jekyll & Hyde legend, while “Ms. Crane” draws inspiration from Hitchcock’s Psycho, weaving chilling vocals into hypnotic rhythms. The remix versions of “Ms. Crane” by Elsoo and “Bette’s Bondage” by Daniel (UK) offer fresh takes on these cinematic sounds, with new dimensions and deep, immersive grooves.
