Appearing on the 20 year anniversary compilation from Drumcode, Truncate remixed "Miss You" off of my album, "Monoliths." Most remixes these days are completely different tracks from the original with almost zero material from the original. However, I think David did a great job of basically using only the source material actually 'remix' into it a completely new techno banger. People have been asking for this one for over a year, and it now it will finally be available.

We are excited to present the first outing of what might soon prove to be one of techno‘s most promising collaborations. While Seatoc Mass' two pristinely crafted EPs have already left their mark on the label, Matrixxman has been turning heads across the scenes with his exceptionally prolific track record.

Drawing upon common thoughts on futuristic themes and their respective strengths as producers from different continents, their joint effort clearly conveys one distinct approach, yet unites the seemingly opposite. Regardless of being no-nonsense dancefloor-weapons, the four tracks still brim with detail, their vibrant elements communicating playfully.

On their shared EP these artists have struck a rare balance. They delicately hover between the spacious and the claustrophobic, the modern and the classic, the stern and the elated – while never losing focus of their mutual mission.

Today we premiere the track Crystal by by Fabrizio Lapiana. 
Fabrizio Lapiana’s Attic Music label reaches release number 20 on the main series with a new EP from the boss himself: Collective Chaos features remixes from fellow Italian techno luminaries Neel & Laertes.

Rome’s Lapiana has been a vital voice in the global techno underground for more than 10 years now. His Attic Music label has played a key part in that, while his own evocative techno soundscapes have come on the likes of M_Rec ltd, Figure Jams, ARTS and Out-Er. This is his first outing of 2020 and is superbly stylish techno trip.

Opener ‘Crystal’ is deep, drawn out techno with perfectly smooth and supple drum programming that soon gets you in a state of hypnosis. Subtle synth loops rise up through the mix as things grow more urgent, and once the percussion joins you’re utterly locked. The title track is a more turbulent and edgy affair that sound tracks a dystopian urban wasteland – the synths are riddled with static, the hurried drums are punchy and there is an urgency in the molten synth lines that keeps you right on the edge of your seat.

Sound sculptor Neel runs Spazio Disponibile with collaborative partner Donato Dozzy and has an impeccable knack for sound design. Here he links with Laertes, a Mental Modern associate who produces artful techno. Together, they remix ‘Collective Chaos’ into a dark and moody techno roller with glitchy textures and high speed synth lines that sweep you off your feet.
Closing out this terrific trip is ‘Koyuk’, a Millsian adventure into an intergalactic techno future, with polyphonic synths rippling above a rubbery drum line that is both propulsive and pensive.

This is high grade, perfectly distilled and meditative techno from some of Italy’s finest exports.

Glancing upwards towards windows he watched as the world woke up to yet another day, some smiled whilst others looked strained beneath the weight of what at times could be a toxic society. It was his job just to simply observe, an idle wanderer, he did not feel it fit to get himself involved in the mischief and misdemeanor of a world in which he did not feel at home.
