While New Yorkers bade farewell to another glorious summer, Satoshi Tomiie took over the decks at Canopy Bar for a recent Autobrennt showcase. As the sun began setting over Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline shimmered in the distance, Satoshi kicked off a stunning set--a divine selection of rooftop vibes that kept the crowds grooving until the very last minute. Over the course of three hours, Satoshi seamlessly weaved through the likes of Spleen Underground Music, Tim Paris, Aaaron, TV Baby/Maetrik, Simon Garcia, and various other delectable choices before closing with Chateau Flight's electric "Kounka"--a fitting track to end a night of uninhibited revelry. Fortunately, Satoshi was able to record his gem of a mix for those who were unable to attend the intimate gathering over Labor Day weekend. Clocking in at 90 minutes, the set is part 2 of a two-part, 3-hour mix.

Profound Sounds Episode 17: Live @ Beta, Denver

Kenny Larkin is one of the chief innovators of Detroit’s so-called second wave of techno producers. Starting his music career in 1990, after serving two years in the U.S. Air Force repairing computers, Larkin returned to Detroit to pursue stand-up comedy. During this pursuit, he, along with other Detroit club-goers, witnessed the birth of a new genre of music at local clubs and was inspired to follow the lead when he started listening to Derrick May on the radio. After contributing several tracks to successful techno compilations (the exquisite Serena X and Tedra amongst others), Kenny was pushed to the forefront of the soulful techno elite and Azymuth, his first album, was released to critical acclaim on Warp Records. Larkin hasn’t looked back since. In addition to his own productions, Larkin lent his melodic sensibilities to various artists including remix work for Carl Craig, Inner City and Charm Farm, amongst others, and his work in music has always been interspersed with his parallel passion for comedy and comedy acting.

Kenny Larkin est l'un des principaux innovateurs de la seconde vague de producteurs de techno de Detroit. Ayant débuté sa carrière musicale en 1990, après avoir servi deux ans dans les ordinateurs de l'armée de l'air américaine, Larkin est revenu à Detroit pour poursuivre une comédie de stand-up. Au cours de cette poursuite, il a été témoin, avec d'autres amateurs de clubs de Detroit, de la naissance d'un nouveau genre de musique dans les clubs locaux et a été inspiré à suivre l'exemple en écoutant Derrick May à la radio.
