Spring is in the air at Push Communications HQ - which can only mean another rejuvenating dose of the freshest, most fertile house. Hot tracks are here resplendent in all their glory. Sleeper tunes that flew under the radar first time around, shake off their winter hibernation and come back to life.

Steve Bug kicks things off in inimitable style, dusting off his Traffic Signs moniker for an exercise in stripped-down, Chicago-esque house that‘s topped by a downright rascalous vocal. More big names abound: Vincenzo dishes up the sinuous bassline of 'Touchdown'; Alex Niggemann delivers garage-tinged house under
new alias C'est Moi; Martin Landsky updates 2003's
classic 'Reject' - a statement of countercultural intent as fresh today as it ever was. Elsewhere, there's plenty of material designed for dancefloor deployment. Mark Henning's 'Pusher' is
fine-tuned for big systems. Shaded's 'Ripped Kick' is a no-holds-barred tech-house weapon. Cologne's Beatkind bring dub inflections and rasta vocals to an exercise in intensity.

And all the while, contrasts and diversity abound. Yannick Labbé's 'All Of It' is a delicious slow burner, burnished by the vocals of Zach Joss, while Panthera Krause and Philogresz bookend the compilation with two blissful, glowing tracks - an ethereal end to
an essential anthology. In between, picking favourites is an impossible task: from Johannes Brecht's snake-charming
'Nuages' to the sub bass of Jacob Phono & Jens Bond's 'Ion' to Arsy's virtuoso 'La Structure Dramatique' there is something here for every sensibility and style.

It's no secret Jimi Jules is an integral part of the Watergate crew since he is a regular fixture at both the club and our international showcases. As well as being a core artist on our very own W Agency we are extremely proud and excited to say we can now include him as part of the Watergate Records roster. When it comes to debuts, it doesn't get any better than Jimi's 'Bogotá' EP and over the course of three tracks, he showcases his best work to date.

Kicking things off with massive, rolling low end and swirling tones is 'Hundeblick'. It's a trippy, big room burner bursting with tension. With long siren-like amplifications swelling relentlessly, 'Hundleblick' surges until it finally crescendos into an obscure yet hauntingly smooth voice.

Next up is the twisted tune 'Modulation' and by relying on just a few integral elements and an insanely infectious groove, the key to this one is in the title. Modulating bleeps, blips and a steady chant of the word 'modulation' create a constantly evolving narrative always held together with expertly crafted percussion. Finally, rounding out the EP is Jimi's most passionate tune of the group, same name as the EP; 'Bogotá'. Layers of harmony, silky guitars and field recordings combine with hints of jazz influence resulting in a perfect tune for serenading the most intimate dance floor moments.

As a whole the EP has been perfectly crafted to provide the definitive tune for any dance floor moment no matter the situation. Compliments to Jimi Jules on an incredible opener and enjoy the ride that is 'Bogotá'.

Jimi Jules - Hundeblick

Gregor Tresher and Cocoon are linked by a long-time relationship which starts all the way back in 2004, when Sven Väth played Gregor's productions in heavy rotation. "Neon", "Full Range Madness", "The Now People" or "Still", just to name a few, can be considered as Techno classics of the Noughties. Almost ten years later, Gregor has established his position and is one of Germany's top notch techno producers. With "About A Good Place", he delivers his long overdue EP debut for Cocoon Recordings. He plays his favourite game straight to the point, with massive analogue synth lines, fat kick drums and hi hats that force you to move: This is adrenaline for the big floors on the planet, those with the real fat PAs!

The title tune "About A Good Place" is one of Sven's secret weapons in his recent sets and breathes Tresher-air XXL! It's all about that crazy, detuned synth line that grows bigger and bigger and results in pure harmony at the great breakdown in the middle of the track. The massive kick drum adds what you need to let the sun shine and wave your hands up in the air!
"Lifecycles" follows that vibe, but digs a bit deeper and adds more sensitivity to Tresher's Techno formula, with all the elements that we already know from "About A Good Place". Crazy arpeggio lines, filter moves and the mandatory dark bass line: hypnotic techno with no chance to escape!
Last but not least, there is "The Sun Sequencer" – the dignified answer to the preliminary techno bangers. More relaxed, with slight touches of House and Trance, "The Sun Sequencer" should be the right choice for fans of Chymera and Slam. Imagine the rising sun at an open air festival site or use this as your first tune for the next after hour – this is the sound of the summer of 2012.
