As a standout and highly requested track in Maceo Plex sets over the last year, his Ellum Audio label finally releases Raxon's 'The Cage of Love,' an epic cover of trance classic 'Age of Love'. 

The original 'Age of Love' is a genre and era-defining tune. Despite its legendary status, Raxon is an artist who is more than up to the challenge of reinterpreting it for contemporary dance floors. The Egyptian-born, Barcelona-based artist is an underground mainstay with a fantastic album on Kompakt, top singles on Ellum Audio and Cocoon Recordings and gigs all over the world. He has teased this track at many of them, and it has never failed to light up the dance floor. 

'The Cage Of Love' has an all-new techno feel with a taught bassline and slapping drum funk. The lead synths are molten and futuristic, while the original's vocal adds the iconic hook. The track builds in layers, teasing and then pleasing when it finally drops as the dance floor explodes and the laser-like synths spray about the mix with a life of their own. 

The vinyl comes with extended and instrumental mixes, while digital downloads include the radio edit and extended mixes. 

This is a new high point for Raxon and a bona fide classic in the making from Ellum Audio.

Ellum Audio serves up a selection of dance floor weapons on a bumper new sampler handpicked by label head Maceo Plex. 

Italian Laherte trained at Studio 76 Music and has since built on that early promise with tunes on top labels. He opens up with 'My Mind', a driving techno cut with slapping hits and filtered alien sounds bringing the menace. Ellum Audio artist Waltervelt then keeps it dark and cosmic with the skewed synth energy and prickly beats of his eerie 'Back Room'.

Argentina's David Bau has made big moves in the underground with this potent take on techno. Here he offers up 'Deconstruct', a tense and turbulent stomper with flashy synth designs and intense, grinding bass. French mainstay Madben follows up his excellent recent album with 'The Drone Dance', another standout track with strobe-lit synth lasers firing over the face of an ice-cold rhythm. 

Part 2 opens with Ibiza-based producer and DJ John Monkman, the founder of Beesemyer Music and a familiar face on this label. He impresses again with 'Talking Heads', another sublime mix of futuristic synth designs carefully layered up over compelling, steel-edged drums. 8-Bit Culprit is the house and techno alter ego of Faraz Ehsan from India. His 'Refurbished Robots' is an electrifying peak time cut that takes you to the heart of a dance floor in outer space, with nebulous pads and squealing cosmic sounds all wrapping around the urgent grooves. 

Next up is the collaborative Headwaters duo from Turkey. They draw on their mix of electronic sounds and instrumental skills on 'Eternal Madness', a slick tech track that locks you into crisp loops then mesmerises with the glowing synth harmonies which shine brightly up top. Danish DJ and producer Christian Nielsen is back on the label to round out this collection with 'Liberate,' a dark dance floor punisher with neck-snapping snares and ghoulish voices over a slithering and hypotonic beat. This has already been receiving plays from Maceo Plex at the likes of Timewarp, Brunch Madrid and the Ushuaia opening and is set to be a summer highlight. 

This is another high-class voyage to the edges of the techno galaxy courtesy of Ellum.

AVNU returns to the Ellum collective, dropping a new single in advance of his second full-length album ‘Crisis In the Simulation’ due on the Ellum this Spring. ‘Next Caller’ comes backed with a remix from another Ellum stalwart, Raxon.

Based in Scotland, DJ & producer AVNU has been deeply immersed in music for over two decades, taking inspiration from the warm tones of blues to the hard cuts from the rave and all points in between. Latest collaborations with Maceo Plex on his new album ‘93’ (‘Clickbait’, ‘Serpent Jazz’ and ‘Go Back’ feat. Desire) and remixes of Tyler Hill and Madben have solidified his association with the Ellum and Lone Romantic labels.

On his new single ‘Next Caller’, the talented producer whips up a progressive and chunky club track laced with dark energy. Raxon’s accompanying remix provides a nuanced slant on the original, kitted out with chunky drums and catchy loops to compliment the thick bassline rhythms of the original.

Leicester-based duo Murphy’s Law collaborate with London producer Guy Mac for ‘PASSION’, a bouncy DFTD release set to do major club damage. Comprised of brothers Sonny and Finn Murphy, Murphy’s Law have spent over a decade refining their eclectic, groovy mix of house, techno and soul, earning them support from major tastemakers Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati and extensive airplay on BBC Radio 1. Their style is a match made in heaven with Guy Mac, a house and techno producer who has supported artists like Nic Fanciulli, Solardo and Pig&Dan, also catching the attention of Jamie Jones who released Guy’s ‘Sonic Boom’ on his lauded Hot Creations imprint. Brazilian born come Berlin resident Joyce Muniz teams up with Algerian born come Rome resident DJ producer Sara Bluma for their phenomenal Kompakt debut “Beats & Lines”, an uplifting electro disco affair with plenty of pop appeal. “I met Sara Bluma a year ago, when she booked me to play at one of her parties in Rome. We connected straight away. It was a matter of time that we decided to make some music together. I had this idea for a while, so I sent it to Sara and asked her if she would like to do some vocals. She came up with this great fun text. This tune interprets the energy from both of us. Which is supposed to be fun!“. Mission accomplished… The good vibes between Sara and Joyce are definitely contagious!

London’s Hardt Antoine is back to the mothership with a bang! “I Will” is a sensual, percussion-driven house anthem for those morning hours, when spirits are high and the sense of unity is palpable. “La Mosca” is taking a more hypnotic approach, putting a joyous chant of unknown origin to good use. Brazilian born producer/DJ Waltervelt returns to Maceo Plex’s Ellum label with a pair of slick and sophisticated tracks on the ‘Modern Slip’ single release.

Last popping up on 2023’s Ellum Sampler V3 EP, Waltervelt has since fired out singles for labels such as Dynamic, Octopus Recordings and Stripped Recordings.  Over a production career that kicked off in 2016, Waltervelt has forged a unique sound characterized by atmospheric textures, pulsating basslines, and intricate rhythms that reflect his passion for exploring the emotional and sensory depths of electronic music.

Two breezy, electro-tinged cuts are served up on this release for Ellum, with ‘Modern Slip’ and ‘Destination 19’ both radiating pure class from this highly talented producer.

Coming in fresh for the summer season with their third outing on Hive Audio is the Swiss duo named Sous Sol with a follow up to their massive „Taonga EP“. Bringing forth two new original tracks and a remix by Romanian electronic music staple Mihai Popoviciu, their new release the „Dizzy Rhythm EP“, fully lives up the pairings high quality standards and is soon to be heard on a dancefloor near you.

Opening with the title track „Dizzy Rhythm“ Sous Sol are employing a deep, tribalistic vibe for a start,  fusing intricate, complex percussion lines with a seductive TechHouse groove and masterly crafted synth arrangements bringing forth a well balanced amount of mystique and drive ideal for intimate late settings as well as epic moments throughout large scale sunrise sessions.

On a remix tip for „Dizzy Rhythm“ is no-one less than Mihai Popoviciu. The Romanian Techno legend who's left a trail of releases on high quality labels like International Deejay Gigolo, Poker Flat Recordings, Bedrock Records and many more over the years turns towards a more dancefloor focused  approach in his rework, strips things down a little, adds quite a distinct, stoic hi-hat whilst staying true to a certain, dreamlike and well trance inducing feel for an ultimate lift-off.

Finally „Hazy Vision“ sees Sous Sol on a well funky tip, once again bringing forth masterly crafted percussion vibes alongside a classic uplifting pad motif harking back to a mid-90s House vibe accompanied by large scale build-ups and the duos trademark mysticism, all falling into place to channel dancefloor energies towards a huge, and surely inevitable, climax.
