One day late but here it is: Wanderers 31 with Jos Mauro, an Ecuadorian-Dutch filmmaker based in the Netherlands, with a strong affinity for storytelling, collecting and listening to records, and using music to drive the narrative. I always enjoy talking with Jos about music, new finds from Velvet Amersfoort (033!) and obsessing over tiny details in a song, and am very excited to share this great hour long story with you.

Jos: "'Sendero: Time and Space' is an immersive blend of my most cherished records and a curated selection of my all-time favourite film soundtracks. As a storyteller, it feels very natural for me to incorporate minimal storytelling samples. However, the connections between the stories and the music are not immediately apparent. Very excited to present Wanderers 61 to you, made by the Berlin based artist Atakan Şenlen - better known as Otuk. After a very welcome tip (thanks!) I had a listen to the mixes and sounds of Otuk, and I immediately heard this would be a great match for this concept. Otuk knows to weave a beautiful tapestry of styles and influences together in both their mixes and tracks. I highly recommend listening to the Gunyuzum EP!

Otuk:
"Drawing inspiration from a traditional Ottoman cafe concept that emerged in the 16th century, this concept aims to recreate the vibrant and multicultural musical gatherings that once flourished in these spaces. In those times, musicians from diverse ethnic backgrounds across Ottoman and nearby regions would come together to drink coffee, socialize, and jam. They exchanged experiences and ideas, contributing significantly to the rich tapestry of multicultural music that characterized the Ottoman era.

As a producer and DJ from Turkey now based in Berlin, my music and selections are deeply influenced by my cultural heritage. My roots trace back to a land that has historically hosted a vast array of musical traditions. The main aim of my concept is to present the influences from music created across the Ottoman and its neighboring regions, including Anatolia, the Middle East, Azerbaijan, North Africa. The soundscapes I curate will range from organic to electronic, often blending these elements together.

Calgili Kahvehane will serve as a modern reflection of the Ottoman Instrumental Cafe environment, bringing together music and vibes from these diverse geographies through my eclectic selections. In this concept, I will take on the role of an Ottoman Instrumental Cafe owner, creating a space where music from all these regions can merge and interact.

lt is not restricted by genre or sound, as I thrive on mixing and sharing different sounds and conducting experiments with sonic contrasts. The goal is to create a dynamic and engaging listening experience that celebrates the fusion of musical traditions and contemporary influences."

El EP se crea en base en algunas canciones y residuos que no entraron en el disco "Alondras Mágicas". El desarrollo los temas y su producción fueron concebidos en estados de insomnio y falta de sueño, concluye en el manifiesto de una hepatitis(a),que no me permitía salir de mi cuarto, en momentos de crisis nacional y terrorismo de estado.
