This is Stephan's fourth appearance on the label in less than a year, but the first
collaboration with Yotto. With distinctive but synergic sounds, both artists are renowned for their ability to imbue their music with rich musicality and captivating rhythms. On 'New Era’ we are invited to join an odyssey into the infinite field of consciousness. The title track has the typical Yotto rippling rhythm that gallops along while drawing you into its orbit, whereas a melodramatic signature Stephan Jolk riff infiltrates your heart centre. On the flip ‘Only One’ takes a
more unassuming approach, the sombre tones complemented by the main melody which is melancholic, but at the same time uplifting. Dance music with pure soul at its core.

When we came to release it, we realised it soundtracked our socially isolated emotions to perfection. Sharing emotions is one of our main motivations when producing music and DJing. Tale Of Us cover the full spectrum of Afterlife sounds, from stirring, sunrise epics and eyes-down techno to more inward-looking moments, individually expressing a collective vision. Crystalline melodies and emotive oscillations connect each work and form the strands which Tale Of Us weave into a momentous Voyage. From the opening tones of the label founders’ own track ‘Alone’, every turn flows further into the Realm Of Consciousness, an unbounded dimension which ends in light.

Colyn - It's All Over

I immediately fell in love with the original and its natural, emotional voyage. The remix became a journey of stripping it back and figuring out how to stay true to this whilst capturing it in a much darker light. I've been inspired by Techno and 5am sweatboxes for a while now and this remix was the perfect opportunity for me to try strike a balance between the grit I love and deeper emotion... Personally I'd say this marks a turning point in my music and getting lost in the stems definitely played a huge part. Hope you enjoy! <3
