In Salento (Puglia, Southern Italy) popular tradition, the bite of the tarantula was believed to be the cause of a physical and mental malaise, accompanied by spasms and behaviors resembling a trance-like state. The "pizzica", a term meaning "to bite", is the music and dance performed in an attempt to heal those afflicted by the bite. It was a therapeutic ritual, a form of exorcism involving wild and frenzied dancing. I tried to renovate this folk genre, homaging my homeland, bringing a new energy. enjoy.
