Each year by Christmas, I prepare a unique holiday compilation for my dear friends to treat them to an unfamiliar, unpredictable and exciting sound selection. This year I want to share the music you wouldn’t typically hear at festivals or club events we frequented. These records are not a regular weekly listen at venues, so this mix brings to the table the pleasure of experiencing music from a broader, varied perspective, especially during this magical holiday time.

Today I present you with a thematic space disco compilation titled ‘Christmas Admission.’ I hope you’ll enjoy my Christmas mix and experience true holiday magic, enhancing your perception of this new music.

Despite all hardships and challenges, I want everyone to be grateful for this past year. The last 365 days have made us perhaps the strongest nation in the world, and I am confident that these ultimate trials will lead us to the moment of truth.

Russian authorities and their population who silently sat out these catastrophic days will answer for these horrors they brought upon us and the world.

Dear friends, I wish you all the best, heaps of inspiration and strength, mental resilience, and victory this upcoming year!

Only vinyl mix with many Ukrainian releases from Kyiv-based DJ and producer Yevgeniy @joss who belongs to a privileged circle of artists to have enormously influenced the development of Ukrainian electronic scene and to have raised its quality bar high throughout the last 10 years. Joss has achieved it particularly due to his firm beliefs and creative creed: high-quality sound and vinyl sets only!
Joss has turned his passion for wax into his own international brand — @artreform, a label specializing in vinyl editions. Four years later today, Artreform can boast more 35 vinyl releases in its catalog. The imprint has put out original titles by Joss himself, which repeatedly performed amazingly well in the Decks and Juno charts, as well as the singles from a number of globally recognized artists ranging from @scsi-9 and @robotneedsoilmsuic up to @bennoblome, Frank Lober, @djebali, @rhadow and @io-mulen. 
Whether he is packing his DJ bag with records for a forthcoming set or checking out fresh demo submissions for @artreform, @joss always relies upon and trusts his already well-recognized taste. His sets and original productions are constantly dominated by highly energetic tech house, classic house with emphasize on the ‘deep’ variety, and some quite ingenious, adventurous techno.
Having opted for ‘grown up’ dance music, @joss distinctly realizes all the responsibility he commits to: personally and creatively. Nowadays the eponymous Artreform Studio offers producers a wide range of analog synthesizers and advanced gear to extract the most extraordinary and distinctive sound possible. One of the best recording studios around Kyiv, Artreform is at the core of building a strong community of artists and musicians from the Ukrainian capital, a city undoubtedly rich in talents.
The recent bright episodes of Joss’s career are a split release with the German producer Benno Blome out on the latter’s label, @sender-records, and a successful run of releases on his very own imprint, @artreform. The best performer of the batch has appeared to be a release by SCSI-9 from Russia. To promote this release, @joss and SCSI-9’s member @anton-kubikov organized a series of showcases at a number of venues, including Kyiv club Port and Moscow’s Gazgolder.

A Ukrainian DJ and sound producer JOSS stands among a select few to have had a significant influence on the development of the electronic music scene in his home country. For approximately 20 years, he’s been consistently upholding a high-quality bar: vinyl sets only and the highest quality sound possible of his releases.

JOSS has channeled his passion for vinyl into creating international brands by launching vinyl labels Artreform and Jerelo Records. Today, after an almost 10- year run, their catalogs include more than 50 vinyl releases: Franco Cinelli, Silat Becksi, Robot Needs Oil, Benno Blome, Frank Lorber, Djebali, Rhadow, Silat Becksi, IO (Mulen). And, of course, JOSS releases as well.

Regardless of what he’s busy with, be it packing his DJ bag with records for an upcoming gig or listening through new demo submissions to his labels. JOSS always trusts his honed over the years ear for music. His sets are dominated by driving tech house, classic house with an accent on its deep variety, intelligent techno, and minimal house. He belongs to a small niche of DJs capable of avoiding being at a loss at the sight of rotary mixers or hi-end PA systems and leveraging those and unfolding on top-tier dancefloors instead . If JOSS and the sound system match, he can play for 5, 7, or 8 hours on end, continuously surprising the crowd with each next track. His sets at Ostrov Festival, Boom Boom Room, or Berlin’s IPSE are fondly remembered for years onwards.

Nevertheless, JOSS is not going to slide into obscurity any time soon. He continues to release new music with remarkable regularity, ceaselessly exploring almost limitless possibilities of his eponymous studio with many analog synthesizers and cutting-edge gear units that allow one to achieve exceptional sound. One of the best Kyiv studios is instrumental in developing a strong community of artists and musicians from the immensely talented Ukrainian capital.
