Bassic VA02 - Labyrinth, Lost In Techno....

Bassic Records second various artist compilation is a proud work, combining global talents and ideas to form a journey-like release created in hope to accrue aspiration, inspire and resonate through dance floors. Compiled by Bassic label head ZigMon with the aim of showcasing what the Bassic Records sound is; not bound by genre but driven by purpose. To represent the natural, progressive, deep, dark and uplifting sounds in the outdoor electronic music scene, namely where he resides and is inspired by on the Australian east coast. From the tantalizing colour of Doppel to the heavy psychedelia of Zimbardy, this VA will take you through the labyrinth, you will be lost in techno.

The partaking producers call a range of different countries home, truly bringing forth distinctive and vibrant musical culture; Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, UK, France, New Zealand, USA, Mauritius, Denmark and of course Australia bred the artists you hear on this release. Consisting of Bassic Records label artists including Doppel, Ken Zo and Matt Dwellers, fresh new artists on Bassic’s roster Gabriel Moraes, Concrescent and Zombie Apocalypse, amazing input from Australian producers Louis Emile and Placeholder and international artists Ben Coda, One Man Orchestra, Flembaz, Quinema and Mose Robert. The final track is a piece by Zimbardy, an exceptional producer and young man who devastatingly passed in late 2015 less than two weeks after we received this track to master for this VA. It is an honour to release this for him and we know he will feel the vibrations every time it is played wherever he may be. This release is for him, as much as it is for you.

There is no reason why you shouldn’t own and listen to this release whenever you feel, so we present it to you without cost, though financial support is always warmly welcomed here at Bassic Records. ADN Music presents the second episode of ADN Chronicles : the Horned God.

The Chronicles series present the annual label compilation gathering all our producers each time around a different mythological background. 
This year, we continue our explorations of ancient legends with the mysterious figure of the Celtic god Cernunnos, Lord of the Wild Things. He represents the biological cycle of nature, reflecting simultaneously life and death, the seeding and the decay, depicted by the ancients with the antlers of a stag, growing at spring and falling at autumn.

Cults of the Horned God can be traced back to Mesolithic era and is shared among many pre-Indo-European cultures. In fact, Cernunnos shows disturbing similarities with Pashupati, an old incarnation of Shiva as “Lord of the Cattle” still worshiped in Nepal. Just like the Vedic gods, Cernunnos is seating cross-legged and holds symbolic objects in his hands like the torque and the ram-headed snake. He’s also sometime depicted as a three-faced god, remembering once again Shiva.

The origins of the Celt people are uncertain, but the Kurgan theory, among others clues, gives a common root to Indian & European cultures. In these times of closed borders and fear of others, it is essential to remember that Humanity has always been made of migrations and mingling. 
This selection of ten tracks depicts this infinite story of birth & death, the perpetual movement allowing the continuity of Life. What else do we celebrate when we dance?

The bushfires that ravaged our home of Australia between September 2019 - February 2020 are one of the most savage and disastrous natural events that the country has ever known.

Over 25.5 million hectares of land were burnt (110,000+ square kilometres), 3000+ homes destroyed, 30 people and more than 1 billion mammals, birds and reptiles died.

100% of the proceeds from each sale of Bushfire Aid VA Series Part 1 and Part 2 will officially go directly to the Australian Wildlife Conservency’s Bushfire Response Campaign, as they work tirelessly in the field to protect numerous species of animals that are now endangered and threatened due to the bushfire season disaster of 2019/20.

Upon donating, aside from the music you will also receive a pdf file from AWC themselves with specifics on the Bushfire Response Campaign that you will be supporting with your donation.

Not one of us is unaffected by this disaster, be it directly, emotionally or chord struck within our soul.

Everyone involved in this release has donated their time and skills to this cause. Jossie Telch has dedicated his life to music: with a long and established background as a drummer and producer, which led to a degree in musical synthesis from Boston's Berklee College of Music in 2004.  After graduating from Berklee he moved back to his hometown, Mexico City, founding the state-of-the-art music studio from which he has been working ever since.   Jossie's expertise encompasses almost every facet of music production such as mixing, mastering and recording, as well as film scoring and jingle composition.  Perhaps more than all, Jossie has garnered incredible acclaim for his original and infectious productions.  Jossie's first-ever release "Breaking Stereo" (Undergroove Music) immediately catapulted him to the top of the Beatport sales chart within the genre, with each new release since  detonating at the top of the charts and across dancefloors worldwide.  Impressed by his explosive energy and musical sophistication, legendary label Digital Structures released his latest EP "Uncommon" in March.  Jossie and his music have set sound systems ablaze and crowds throbbing at top festivals such as Universo Paralelo in Brazil and Time and Space in Mexico.  Keep your ears on Jossie as his beats continue to furiously, beautifully take flight!
